A bit of background on me and everything.
So I'm in college now as a freshman, declared my major as Math ed (secondary education)
With a minor in Comp Sci.
I've wanted to teach nearly all my life, and I've always loved math.
Last year I took a computer science class and absolutely loved it.
(Learned how to code in Java, nothing crazy, but it was fun)
I passed the AP test to many people's dismay
(I didn't find it terribly difficult, but a ton of people did)
So.
Now I'm in college, and within the next few weeks I have to decide the career for the rest of my life.
My GPA is pretty shitty as I found calculus fucking hard.
A Comp Sci major would require 2 semesters (which means after this semester no more calc)
Math would require another semester.
A guest speaker came in the other day to talk about Comp Sci.
She said if you like Algebra especially Comp Sci is more for you.
The more I thought about it the more I thought maybe I don't like all math, maybe just algebra.
And though I could teach some algebra, I'd be teaching other kinds of math as well.
So I dunno, I guess I'm thinking I'd like to be a programmer for a living for a while.
After a while of programing I suppose I could get a teaching certificate or whatever and teach comp sci somewhere.
Seems like that's what a good amount of people do anyway,
Career first, then teach based on career experience.
So I guess my mind is pretty set on switching majors, and it's not to say that I'm gonna make that choice based on some people I don't actually know online, but I figure third party opinions wouldn't hurt.
I also think I know the answer cuz of the community this is, but if there are any comp sci majors here I'd like to hear your opinions.
So that's about it for now.
Minecraft stuff will be up soon.
Need to get some screen cap software.
But yeah, peace out.
