Oh Cartoon Network, what did they do to you?

Remember when Cartoon Network was good? With all the kick-ass shows like Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog? Now they have fucking shit on, like Problem Solverz, Gumball, and other dumb crap. From what I read, CN had good shows on in the 90s and from experience, the early 2000s. What are your thoughts on Cartoon Network?

I will never have the courage to watch Cartoon Network again since I have seen "Tim and Eric Awesome Show." I will never forget the fear I had that day in my life and all the scars from it.

Dexter's Laboratory Somewhat awesome show, IMO
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Powerpuff Girls Can't forget MOJOJOJO now can we?
What a Cartoon!
Cow and Chicken
I am Weasel
Time Squad
Samurai Jack
2 Stupid Dogs
Grim and Evil freakin' Billy
You left out KIDS NEXT DOOR, LOL

That show was amazing. STOP MAKING ME NOSTALGIC!

And they cancelled the only good new show on Cartoon Network called Chowder. That was a funny show no matter how old you are.

There were many other great, old shows, but I can't remember them. My childhood is slowly fading :/

I never find anything good showing on Cartoon Network anymore.
I usually watch Fox8's cartoons now (Simpsons and all that).

There's a classic cartoons channel on digital cable that we get. It's so awesome. It has stuff like the flintstones/jetsons, pink panther, yogi bear, reboot, and so many other awesome shows.

Also, I need to download Courage the Cowardly dog. Love it. I've already got Reboot, Powerpuff girls, Dexter's lab, Johnny bravo...and one more I forget off the top of my head.

I think you're talking about Boomerang, right? That's what I've been watching to get my old cartoons back ^_^
I believe Powerpuff Girls will be airing on Boomerang soon. Or at least that's what my niece was screaming. I was watching Johnny Bravo with her earlier. She's a Cow and Chicken fan
While I will agree that Problem Solverz is, without a doubt, the utmost worst thing ever to be shown on any network since the introduction of the television set, I'm a little fond of Gumball. I was pleasantly surprised to find it quite charming in its varied potpourri of an art style, as well as its inexplicable but immediately-noticeable charm. It's certainly not a masterpiece, but I've found it to be as accessible and charming as I used to find the older stuff on Cartoon Network to be, which is an admittedly rare occurrence for me. :P

However, to each their own, of course.
Well, not that you bring it up, it reminds me of what CN looked like a couple years ago. Where they blended the cartoon characters into real life. For example, you could see Eddy walking down a realistic street.

Powerpuff Girls has been airing for a while now. I remember when they played every single episode once a year on the anniversary.

And the recently started putting the old episodes of Pokemon on there, which is a win for me.

The way they've been butchering cartoons, I think I'll stick to the old version.
I hope you enjoy it, though!

Cartoon Network shows I enjoyed:

1992 - Hong Kong Phooey
1992 - Secret Squirrel
1993 - 2 Stupid Dogs
1994 - Space Ghost: Coast To Coast
1996 - Dexter's Laboratory
1996 - The Real Adventures Of Jonny Quest
1997 - Johnny Bravo
1998 - The Powerpuff Girls
1999 - Ed, Edd N Eddy
1999 - ReBoot
2001 - Time Squad
2001 - Grim And Evil
2001 - Justice League
2002 - Codename: Kids Next Door
2003 - The Grim Adventures Of Billy And Mandy
2004 - Justice League Unlimited
2004 - Megas XLR
2005 - Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends
2008 - Ben 10: Alien Force
2008 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars
2008 - The Marvelous Misadventures Of Flapjack
2010 - Ben 10: Ultimate Alien
2010 - Sym-Bionic Titan
2011 - The Looney Tunes Show
2011 - Young Justice

So they're still making shows, but like all specialty channels anymore, they are trying to go more and more mainstream to gain more viewers. They still air their shows, but they also air crap the original viewers don't want. *cough*Syfy*cough*Wrestling*cough*

i have been watching adult swim since its been toonami. adult swim is the reason why CN will go down in history as the best cartoon network ever. the only thing i hate is the rotating lineup, just when it gets good they go and switch it up.

they got me into all the best animes i love (trigun, blue gender, flcl, and even some cowboy bebop). the original shows are amazing as well, i will watch the tim and eric awesome show for the rest of my life. it is the funniest comedy of all time, hands down. i use lines from the show all the time in my daily life.

one of my favorite bits is cinco urinal shower, youtube it and you will laugh, guaranteed. if not you have no sense of humor. you should also check out petite feet. its truly genius.

some of those shows jumpman are from different networks just rerun on cartoon network. i believe reboot was an abc show at first. i could be wrong.

enjoy

I saw like the first ten minutes of the first episode already they are kind of sticking with the original animation look. The characters do look a lot different though.

Cartoon Network was my introduction to anime (DBZ, Ruroni(sp?) Kenshin, and Yu Yu Hakusho), and I loved them for it. Cartoon Network and Nick were freaking awesome back in the 90's, started to decline in the early 2000's, and just turned to complete crap after a couple more years. It has started to pick up again with the likes of Adventure Time, but I don't think cartoons can hit the standards we became so accustomed to for most of a decade.
