MMO reviews..

Lately i've been bored as hell.

So i've been thinking I should start doing MMO reviews. There are a fair number of MMO reviewers out there already, but honestly i've never really liked them that much.
Usually the reviewer is a WoWtard, not an MMO gamer, or puts a casual twist on their reviews.
MMOhut is my favorite for their "first impressions", simply because the dude does a LOT of them, is humorous, and does a pretty good job of showing a games beginnings. But he's a complete casual gamer, and his reviews get kind of repetitive if you watch enough of them over a short period of time.

Only thing holding me back is a lack of idea of what to review first. Or rather, which few. Since I plan on writing a few before I start releasing them (one reason, to see if I enjoy reviewing, other reason is so I have 'reserves' so I can release reviews at a decent rate, even when I don't feel like writing one at the time).

Tried narrowing it down to only do MMOs i've already played.
That limited the list to...over a hundred MMOs.
Or ones i've played for a fair amount of time.
...about 50.

Hmm hmm decisions decisions. Maybe it'd be best to try my darndest to find some MMOs i've never played before.

Also deciding to do text reviews, video reviews or both is conflicting as well.
My computers violent hate for recording programs is a main reason for me not jumping all over video reviews. (FRAPs makes any game I record lag. Even a low-end game like CSS).

It'd be a great idea, considering the opinions I've seen from you. Honestly, text only is fine, videos are hard to get and often sound like crap if you don't have good equipment. Just be sure to focus on many of the actual gameplay elements (PvE vs PvP, grinding time, cash dependence, etc) instead of just how many pets you can get or other crap like that.

As for suggestions... I'd say review "different" games. That can mean an odd graphical style, a strange main gameplay style, and anything else that makes the game different. People are often hesitant to try something that isn't the same cookie-cutter WoW clone, and a positive (or negative) review from someone who knows their shit might convince them to give it a shot (or stay far away).

I will start the MMO reviews from the most common ones then towards those unique MMO's that no one hears about. WoW tends to get repetitive despite the updates of new maps, weapons, and etc. My advice is to type the first impression when you saw the MMORPG game then give your experience, duration of gameplay, the community (a lot of people ignore this because most communities are not helpful at all!), pros/cons, then finally the verdict.

It will be interesting to see what you think about certain MMORPGs.

Thanks for the vote of confidence you two.
I'll take those things into consideration when I do reviews.

I'd start with Final Fantasy XI first for two reasons. One, I'm an ex player myself and I'm interested to see what others thought of the game, and two, the server are being shut down soon for the release of FFXIV, so best to do this one now and get it out of the way while you have the chance.

Uhh... you do know that they're still on the 80 cap? There was an expansion last month, and the cap's eventually gonna hit 99. Yes, 14 comes out at the end of the month, but there's still planned content for 11.
