ROMs

I have experienced these in the past so I figured to ask this question.

Have you experienced any or all of the following:
a) You have a lot of ROMs on your flash cart. You haven't started on any of those games so you decide which one to play. You then find it hard to decide which game to play first and you judge a game by the longevity, the controls and the difficulty. You end up being indecisive, hence turning off the DS and leaving it to one side.

b) You have finished at least half of the games in your flash cart and you think that you might as well replace those games with newer ones. You can't decide which one to get so you consult review sites or maybe the DS Essentials list.

c) You/someone mess up a minor thing in the game (i.e. you never knew you could get that certain thing earlier in the game) and you have the "urge" to delete the save file.

d) Of all the ROMs in your flashcart, you only play 1-3 games in there everyday and the rest, occasionally.

This, only it's all a little lower on the frequency scale. I play one or two titles occasionally, and the rest, never. Everyone goes through this phase. The more ROMs you have, the less enthusiastic you are about playing. When you have only one game, you play it and play it and squeeze every bit of content out of it, unlock everything, then delete the saves and start over with a new character. When you have a thousand games.... meh. You don't play anything, and those you do you play halfway through and leave aside.

A and D.

I love many of the games on my iTouch DS, but i can't seem to know what to play and give up on even starting to play.

And when I manage to get past that obstacle, I can't help but want to continue with my currently playing games.

Edit: LOL, 3 posts all at 9:04pm (here).

I have B happen to me a lot. I don't usually finish them, but I find myself easily distracted from a game and never really go back to it again. That's what happened with Chinatown Wars (well, I didn't have any money to buy the drugs for a mission and earning the cash was a bitch).

i only keep bout 5 games a time to avoid all this i have a 8 gig i put movies and music and homebrewut only 5-7 games cuz before i used to have like 70 and i had problem a everyday

The things that I said are the reasons I would stick with my 2GB card.

I actually tried that once, but the difference is I only put about 3 games. That didn't last long when I saw one of my friends playing N+ (which was new at that time). I reverted to filling up my card.

That's one of my problems. I usually stop playing game near the end. Then I try something new, then get bored and then arghhhhhh.

It's the "Pirate syndrome" :(
Yeah, I'm experiencing this as well, no matter how hyped and happy about some game I am, I slowly loose interest in it if I'm able to play other games (even tho I'm not so interested in them)..

Beat me to it Toni. I remember a discussion like this erupted in Rayder's thread about piracy.

For me well i see my self leeching all the games i want to play, and then end up never playing them. Im experiancing 'd' and 'c' the most. Hopefully things will change with the upcoming releases.

This is why I still use a 1 gig MicroSD. Limited choice unless I want to turn my computer on (assuming it isn't already on).

C) Doesn't really bother me that much, unless the thing I missed is completely missable and will never appear again. That's just the developers pulling a dick move though and wanting you to buy and follow the strategy guide whilst playing the damn game though.

this is applicable to wii games as well. I've got a stack of them and I can't seem to bring myself to play most of them. its always a good idea to get them at the time, then I sit there and stare at them until I realize I never wanted to play them in the first place. its like a pac-man-pack-rat syndrome. If its out there I should be entitled to have it too. Even if I don't really want it. Just incase....I regress to a five year old...I want to be able to play some shovelware. Just incase I give up my day job and dignity and girlfriend...I want to have a Final Fantasy kicking around. Just incase I actually give a shit about american football....etc You know?

So yeah, I'm feeling the pain. I had a DS and went through all of those symptoms with roms. Wanna know how I cured it???? I gave my DS and EZV + 3-1 away to my neice and nephew. hehe....loaded it with games and let them have their way with it. Everytime I see them they want me to "magically" put another game on there. Since I don't really want to give them the impression that steal is right for them (Just for me!). Sooo yeah....give your DS away...and start the same obsession over again...on a WII this time.

A and D I have good games that I want to play like about 5 of them but when I do go to play them I get bored a feel like playing another game and then run into A and  .

This. I actually unlocked everything in Nintendogs as it was the only and first game I had for months.
Then the flashcart arrived (a shiny SuperCard SD, back then) and I fell into a spiral of gaming incompleteness :(

Noteworthy exceptions are the Phoenix Wright games. I literally eat them up in mere days with non-stop gaming :creep:

All of the above for me. The only game I keep going back to is the GBA Baulers Gate. I have beat it 100 times if I have once.

I test games I want to test. If I hate it, I delete it. If I like it, I'll buy it. If there's none in my country, I keep it. Some games dont see light of the day after I play them once (got the intro and then that's it, the intro only)
