Love the homeless....

Its been a weird day started early, had to go to court with someone I knew, he was the one in the crap I just wanted to see what it was all about.

Anyway he got a £170 fine and so on our way back in the middle of a train station we bumped into a random homeless person, I do love them, the ingenuity they use and the stories they concoct just to make you part with your cash is amazing.

So he fed me some story, i went along the lines of " Alright mate, how you doing tonight, guess what, today's my birthday and I've just been made homeless, I've got no place until Wednesdays, my girlfriends heavily pregnant and sedated in the car, could I have some money so I can go get a sandwich."

Ok so there is a slim chance this tale could be true but to be fair I deal with the homeless alot living near a city and some of them take the piss, I give what I have in my pockets which is sometimes only have 5 or 6p and I've had it they say I'm a cheap bastard and throw it back at me.

Luckily I had 70p in my pocket and I felt he deserved it, hopefully he got his sandwich.

I give money to the people who have the more believable stories, knotreally. I've always hated going to Chicago because of homeless people, it makes me feel bad that I don't have any cash to give them, or pity them, depending on how they got to become homeless in the first place.

There are so many fakes with that same story that you just told about. About 2-3 years ago, a few months after I moved in to a new house, there was this guy that rang the doorbell at 7 at night. He was wearing one of those orange jacket-like things that people on traffic duty wear. His story was that he lived a few houses in my neighborhood and that his wife was pregnant and needed to go to the hospital immediately. Since I was a gullible dumbfuck (for a 12 year-old at the time), I believed the guy and told my parents to fork up some kind of money (my parents are gullible as well, but not too gullible, they were actually skeptical of the current situation). Came up with 5 bucks. The dude also told us that he would pay us back in a few days.

Well whaddya know, he didn't come back after a few days. Just left, never came back.

That was the last time I trusted any kind of homeless person. At the moment, I don't give a flying fuck about homeless people.

Why should you feel pity for that person? He/she had the chance to achieve a high education and he/she lost that chance. It's life.

It's just my opinion, that's all.

well I know this entry is old but I want to share about this ...

One common "pattern homeless lie" here is that he went out of jail and need money to return to his city ... I know some maybe be tre but other we see at least one day a week around there ....

One thys happened similar the ma come with a long history about being addicted on drugs but wanted to get out of this, and needed money to take a bus on the bus station to a place tha thad treathmend and stuff .
Well I gave him some money and a sandwich, he thanked me and went out... the opposite direction of the bus station (I live kinda near it :B ) .
Some time later he came back again with a puppy just asking for help to buy it some food and I gave him something to eat ... I think he come some other times but I haven't payed much attention on the stories if had any ..

I'm the kind of person that can't look out but I neverwalk withmuch money so I don't donate on the street, if they come my door I give something to eat (unless there are none or I'm busy to prepare something) and they come back until my grandfather answers the door and make them to go away XD
Well I don't believe much on the stories, I ha helped a woman with and very bad made one but well I don't fell bad foe helping, I fell pity to they have to lie to get something, but they haveto fell bad if get something with a lie, not me for giving it, right?

The way I always see it is I should give the money to some organization that will evenly dole out resources, like a food bank or a shelter. I don't want to reward the homeless people that panhandle and punish the ones that don't.

I did give the rest of my baguette to a homeless guy one time.

You have to give people the benefit of the doubt. You can't just assume that people will spend it on drugs or booze or whatever. And frankly if people are desperate and humble enough to beg for money then they probably really need it anyways, homeless or not.

yeah .. it's kinda off topic but money is really a sheet ... or better saying the NEED of it is a sheet, we have to spend our lives for this "god", wanting it or not xp if not you have no rights, you have nowhere to stay, no one to care about you (maybe the ones on same situation but you know, some even fight each other for some money or food ....)

And yes the ee should be a i instead lol

And the ones near me pull a knife or handgun. How exactly can they afford a knife or gun and an iPhone / iPod, feed their dog, AND NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD A FUCKING $3 SANDWICH? But I still give them a penny because I'm a bastard.

@EarlAB , Not exactly how that all works. They could've been recently made homeless. I've been in the homeless position before. It's not fun. Please don't call out on stuff like that. It's upsetting.

not all robber are homeless and not all homeless are robbers , @EarlAB :x begging for money and taking it from you are different things :/

Nope. It's just one guy and he's been "homeless" for the past 15 years. He threatened to kill my dad and my mom last year as well. But do the cops do anything? No, they're paid to ignore this specific area because of all the drug deals and murders.

So, immediately, all the homeless are heartless criminals. I see. I'm sorry for such a horrible thing that they said, but that's heartless to assume that all the homeless are like that.

Wow, this is post is from 4 and a half years ago. My opinions have changed so has my attitude. I don't give money anymore but whenever I have some spare money I buy food or drink such as a subway or a meal deal from a suoermarket. And give them a fag every now and again if I'm carrying my tobacco, stop and have a chat every now and again. People are people and don't deserve to be over looked just cause they're having a shit time in their lives

Oh shoot. I didn't know this was that old. And Ruby, I didn't say all homeless were like that. It's just that many turn to crime in order to survive.

My best friend and i walked to the food store and noticed a guy with a cute pit bull mix, I think. We decided to gave 2 dollars to him and pet his dog. He said "Eye love you and thank you". Poor him but we can walked proudly and show love to everyone no matter what. He is still there today as well as his dog. We greeted him sometimes. :)

I'm not saying I've been through hell. ( Many homeless are that way for years. [ But no child should ever need to suffer without their parents nor with no roof over their head.]) But, at the age of 12, I went 3 months homeless because my parents didn't care. No child at that age should ever be homeless. I spent lots of time with friends to get to stay with them as long as possible. ( Trying not to hint at them that I was homeless. ) They didn't let me stay often. I often found myself sleeping in the park or in the woods. ( Being deaf and in a country where I couldn't speak it's language, no one could help me out in any way. No one knew I had no place to stay. ) I had to just eat with friends and hope they'd help me out each day. One of them gave me a sketch pad and pencils. I sold drawings for that time until I finally got accepted again by my parents. I never turned to violence or crime to ensure I woke up each day.

"Don't be afraid of man, that can only kill the body, be afraid of who can kill the body and spirit."

Yeah but the man can kill you in many different ways, for example death by 1000 cuts. The man could individually break your bones one by one, give you a giant enema with an award winning cucumber, or God forbid somehow make pasta go through my ears and out my nose.
Be afraid of the man.

Gotta love a religious zealot

Not do because you think you are baing watched, do if it make you feel better, helping is what matters... just action don't make you a better person ówo
