Cell phone question

cell phone contract expires in October.
At&t.
They have phone upgrade plans but since my phone is still in the contract I can't see how much I'll be discounted.

I want to buy an iPhone.
Largest available capacity, preferably 3GS but I'll settle for 3G as well.

Regular price for 32gb 3GS is i think $400 or $500...
Does anyone have any idea how much I'll be discounted come October?


Edit: Please don't say "iPhone sucks!" or anything like that. I need a new iPod (mine is garbage), I need a phone. Suggestions are welcome but I'd rather talk about this iPhone thingy.

Non discounted 32GB 3GS is $799, $299 with a two year contract (but don't forget that this has to have a data plan as well)

3G > 3GS.

The 3GS only has a few more hardware upgrades which doesn't change that much and is more over priced. Your best bet is the 3G which would be cheaper and also can be jailbroken.

He said he wants the largest capacity but they only sell 8GB 3g's now

and the 3gs IS jailbreakable... hell I helped a friend do it a few days ago

imo 3gs would be worth it for some of the apps you'll be seeing soon. that half life demo and the portal demo floating around on youtube look great.
