Blizzard and physical game discs.

So I've been getting interested in strategy games recently, and one series that caught my eye was Starcraft. I wanted to buy a copy of Starcraft 2, since 1 was free and imo not that good nowadays. (but the remaster looks cool)
I went down to a local used game store and they had a copy of the original Wings of Liberty version boxed, which was just what I wanted. In the box, there was a digital game key (obviously already used, its a used game store) and a disc. However, it turns out that you can no longer use disc copies of starcraft 2, online or offline. Blizzard support just told me my best bet was returning it and getting a digital copy. Even if i was able to provide proof of purchase, my copy of the game is now useless, which SUCKS since I'm now stuck with the Starter Edition. I honestly wonder why blizzard would continue to sell the discs if they don't work. (i checked other game stores that sell new games and they still had the discs)

I only really own one game with Blizzard, and I remember having a struggle buying it, something about the order not going through, then needing processing (I tried to forget about it to be truthful) once I had to game I said no more.
Alot of other friends have had issues with their purchases in the past as well. I wouldn't say they're my best source of games.
