I got the game in the recent Humble Bundle and now with a less-shit computer, I can actually play games. So I hear everyone raving about Bastion and decided to install it.
Beforehand I thought it was just some game with unnecessary popularity because it was indie or something. I mean people obsess over it.
That was until I loaded the game.
In about 5 seconds I was blown away. The artwork, narration, music, everything just came to together. It's a game that tries to be deep but actually succeeds. Just everything about the game oozes excellence.
Personally I'm not a large fan of isometric games like this since I seem to have some issues with depth perception and I always find the camera angles to be really awkward but it works here. It's not bad by any means and it's just an enjoyable way to push the plot, narration, and art.
I'm not too far into it but it's an excellent game. Well worth the $6 I paid for the Humble Bundle.
