now I've noticed some problems with this email

1) the email received doesn't include the said infringed item if any in question it just say to log into the customer portal (red flag in my mind)
2)ever since the last time I've stayed away from torrents (even legal like linux distros) since the last time, I only downloaded one (the TWL FW files directly from 3ds.guide to fix DS mode on my O2ds since then if I ever pirated I used file hosters or private servers from certain wares sites

3)about the TWL files the letter was timestamped at 10:40AM EST the dl initiated after 11am

so somethings not adding up
also my internet was never cut off this time so that perplexed me more

Nothing ever comes out of these threats from what I hear, so I don't think you need to worry.
But, they literally said that they don't care if you pirate as long as you don't upload. So there's also that option.

thing it the people who signed me up for cox has a thing for roboforming (randomizing) passwords for security reasons as such I'm locked out of my account (so to speak) but still in the past warnings the infringing file name was on the warning email every time it's absence in this one really has me curious as I've seen the previous letters too also my internet was disconnected last time you'd think it would disconnect again (maybe even perminatly and terminate my contract) ALSO I haven't used torrents in 2 months I MAKE SURE OF THIS always file hosters

but to add on that 3ds.guide should stop hosing the said torrents and host them by other means if this is what tripped it cause not everyone thinks of using VPN while getting the files to hack their 3DS

I doubt 3ds.guide is what triggered it. Movie production companies and similar will sometimes watch specific torrents to see who downloads/uploads them, especially with big blockbusters and early leaks. That seems to be how people are getting caught. But I doubt Nintendo are doing this for the files linked in 3ds.guide, although it's possible.
In your case, maybe someone else using the connection torrented something, or maybe you downloaded something from a site that was seized by the FBI.

had one recently , daughter using showbox... it did specifiy that she watched the greatest showman ... torrent related streams and they are all over it

Showbox doesn't even work for me anymore. No downloads available :(
I wanted something I could use with my Chromecast to easily stream stuff.

I don't recall ALTHOUGH LOOKING at my router I see what was said as a reserved IP the only other things are my switch/3ds all my other devices are named like Chris's J3 Prime (my phone) Chris's Inspiron (my pc) etc but one said (unknown (the reserved IP)-

no I stay away from stuff like Kodi etc the only thing I use remotely streaming is crunch roll, youtube and ahem porn tube sites, and I use a Firefox extension for doing vids but thats over http not bit torrent

I suggest PeerBlock if you're using torrents. I started my subscription for their premium block lists a few years back at $10/year and I've never received an ISP complaint since. After you do some basic setup you just run it whenever you're running your torrent handler.

I hsvrnt torrented for 2 months except 3ds.guide files most of mine were like G drive etc wait somehow iirc G drive synced to one drive w/o my concert (during windows 10 setup I opted out of sync for storing local only

this is why I'm so confused....maybe they are changing their game plan by including all internet traffic not just torrents

I remember when I was in university, our residence internet (resnet) was constantly giving me these for downloading porn. Let them do what they want. If they're that eager to lose your business, fuck 'em. Someone wants your money enough to ignore this nonsense.

Pay for PIA (cheap VPN, and completely worth the small price), run it when you're wanting to download junk. I personally use a different browser and don't log into any personal accounts anywhere when running it, but I forget what best practices are (google it).

Make sure your torrent program runs only through PIA and will not work unless it's on (the good ones will let you do this easily, like deluge). Also be sure to google which options should be checked/unchecked to protect you best. Additionally, peerblock can be used to help plug any potential holes, but it's passive and shouldn't be used by itself.

It is curious they didn't specify the offending file. Maybe they're just getting lazy.

I have att internet. i also have had the same static ip since 2005. Yet i have downloaded so much crap. i dont really do movies from torrents. but tv shows and applications yeah. the popular shows like the walking dead and westworld i wait 1 year to get for my achives.
I dont know why i have not received any such letters. Id like to get faster internet but comcast xfinity does not give residential lines a static ip only their overpriced business versions. Comcast sends those letters left and right. One mp3 and you get one lol. Att uvers makes u use their crappy gateway and is not good enough for my needs. they dont let you bridge the connection so my router can control the connection.

I guess ill have to wait for other options. Id prefer to not have to use a vpn.
