Well, I decided to try things out that is so cool and trendy to hate. I figured it would be kinda fun. This is the exploits of the first 3 days.
My first item on the block is: Twilight. The first movie. Holy gods. Theres a reason why people hate on this movie so much. The parts that I was awake I almost turned gay. I probably would have if I didn't fall asleep 2/3 of the way into the movie. It deserved the shit it gets. I won't be watching the sequels.
The next on the list is something...that, is not necessarily generally hated on, but I have hated on for a good while because I thought it looked like junk. Scott Pilgrim I downloaded these "books" and blazed through them in about half a day. The first thing i'll say is I really don't like the art style. Too cartoonish for my tastes. Scott is 24 and in the books he looks like he's 14. Visual aesthetics aside, the series isn't that bad. That being said it's not all that great either. It's a love story with a few fight scenes, with a video game theme thrown in to add a bit of flavor. (leveling up, game references, save points, etc...) When it's stripped down to it's core, it really doesn't have much.
I have been around in the Anime circles enough to know that the "Shonen Jump Three" are the most despised anime in all existence. Naruto, One Piece and Bleach. Naruto being the "Meat" in the shit sandwich so to speak. I decided to give Naruto a shot. My verdict? Well, I watched episodes 1-20 and I have to say, it isn't half bad. I would actually say that it's pretty good. Yeah, there are many more Anime out there that are better, but I really don't see what all the hate is about, unless you count the "narutards".
Well, that's it for now. If anyone has any suggestions to try anything that is "Great to Hate" post it up. I'd love to give it a try, just to say I did.
