ANTED: There and back again

One day I said: I gotta live more!, so I decided to undertake a quest of doing A New Thing Each Day of my life; anything that I never did will do, something really simple or a huge thing!, the idea is not to skip a single day; the day from the title I....

Went to the Statue of Liberty, as part of the GBATemp '08 Tour. It was a great experience, the island is called "Liberty Island" and it's fairly small, the coolest thing is them museum that tells you a bunch of details about how they actually made the statue. Amazing monument. Too bad we couldn't get inside, though it seems a little impossible for the people to actually get inside the statue since the stairs are really small, maybe using an elevator?

maybe using an elevator?
I visited it years ago and they made it so you had to walk up and could only take the elevator down.
Needless to say, i didn't get very far.

well, have fun!

The dome of the cathedral of Florence (Santa Maria del Fiore) is an interesting climb. Tiny steep spiraling staircases sandwiched between the inner and outer dome, full of weird small tangential corridors, windows at ends of tunnels at odd angles, and everything very very cramped. But the view... it's great.

Too bad you didn't get to climb the statue.

Uhhh ... just reading this makes my legs all wobbly. I'm really bad with heights (acrophobia). Incidentally, this only happens when I'm in urban areas. When I'm in nature (say, mountain-climbing), I don't have such a problem.

Anyway I never got into Sonic unfortunately, not because I don't like it (I do), idk there's probably no reason I guess. I'd like to play Sonic 1 in the future to catch up a bit
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
@Xdqwerty, Damn really? I wonder why they're doing that
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
They were going to make a Phantom Blood movie? Pretty cool. Guess it just got scrapped for the 2012 series.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@_Ruri_, it actually premiered but it hadnt been rereleased since then, gonna show you the first 16 minutes cuz thats the only thing we have avaliable from it aside from some trailers and concept art and an animation test
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@_Ruri_, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOUDdJRvn2Q theres no dialogue btw and there are some differences with the manga and the 2012 anime but you might still understand it since i'm sure you are familiar with phantom blood's plot
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
@Xdqwerty, Pretty cool, I guess we only have like camrips and similar right?
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
Wow, that's pretty cool. I'm kinda sad it got lost. Also Is it me or does the art style look a bit western?
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
They even had the soundtrack prepared huh
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@_Ruri_, it's actually a workprint provided by the film's composer
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
    @Xdqwerty, What do you mean?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@_Ruri_, quoting the Lost media wiki: A workprint of the film's first 16 minutes with music only, provided by the film's composer, were used as course material for sound design projects at the Academy of Art University at some point, with one student uploading his assignment to YouTube in 2012, making a significant portion of the film viewable to the public once more.
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
Wait this stuff got used as an assignment? And the reason we have this stuff is because the dude uploaded his assignment on YouTube? Lmao
