I'm going, anybody else?
I personally can't wait to see Versailles
Not to mention everything else there is to do:
Anime Music Videos
Take one part anime, one part music, one part editing, mix together in a pot, bake at 45°F for 37 minutes, and you’ve got an Anime Music Video. Watch them all, vote for the best. The winners will form a committee and take over the world… or, barring that, get some prizes. We’ll also have a room completely dedicated to voluntary misery as we bombard your senses with a torrent of music videos.
Artist Alley
They’ve been honing their skills, training in the mountains, meditating in waterfalls, and now they’re ready to unleash their talents upon the world. Witness marvels of artistry at levels of which the world has never seen since last Tuesday. Be amazed as starving artists solicit comics, sketches, other things with drawings on them, and sometimes even conversation. You can even commission your very own idea to be drawn by the artist of your choice. To find out how to request a table see our artist alley page.
Art Show and Auction
Witness the bizarre turmoil of inner psyche unleashed upon a medium chosen by the inner child. There’s also a few drawings here and there, maybe a model or two, but it all has a deeper meaning… probably. If a piece can move you to tears, you can make a bid to take it home in exchange for an insubstantial amount of money. Be careful, though. That innocent looking sailor scout is trying to outbid you.
Autograph Sessions
Get autographs from the guests! They might be willing to sign things other than merchandise and pictures, but that depends heavily on what it is.
Kabuki Ball
Anime USA is pleased to present the return of our Formal Dance Event! The Kabuki Ball will take place on Friday, October 10th. Zip up those evening gowns, strap on those dancing shoes, and enjoy the drama of the ball room!
Can’t tell a Waltz from a Cha-Cha? No problem! Anime USA will provide dancing lessons before the ball. Experienced dancers will teach you the moves you’ll need to know. Meet potential dance partners, or just brush up on your technique!
Unlike other dances at Anime USA, the Kabuki Ball is a formal event, and will have a semi-formal dress code. Cosplay is welcome, provided the costume fits with the occasion. (And please, NO SNEAKERS!)
For a thorough breakdown of what is or isn’t appropriate, the Kabuki Ball Dress Code will be posted soon. If you have any questions about individual outfits, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We are happy to advise you. (Anime USA staff reserves the right to deny entry to anyone wearing inappropriate attire.)
We look forward to seeing you there!
Cosplay
Despite the depth of plot, intriguing characters, heart-stopping action, and earth-moving romance, all you can think about is how great that character’s outfit looks. You don’t wish to be the character, though, you just want to wear his clothes. Either that, or one of your friends has bullied you into being in her Inu Yasha group. It doesn’t have to end there, though. You can enter the Cosplay Contest, perform a skit, and probably win a prize (there’s a lot of prizes, you’re bound to win one of them). Of course, if wearing a costume is not your thing, you can just take pictures of those that do.
Dance
Think you can dance? Don’t let that stop you. Get your groove on at the hottest place in town Saturday night. Check your ego at the bar, as you won’t need it here. Just get up on the dance floor and shake it. Bounce to the rhythm of the solid BPM. Lay down the boogie. Watch out for glow sticks.
Dealer Room
You know you don’t really want to carry all that money around all weekend. There are plenty of vendors more than willing to take it off your hands, and they’ll even give you stuff in exchange for it. You know you always wanted that Sailor Moon figurine. As long as you’re there, you may as well get that Cowboy Bebop wall scroll all the kids are talking about. What better way to fill an empty shelf than by stocking up on anime DVDs?
Game Shows
You know what a game show is. We’ve got a few. There are prizes.
Karaoke
Think you can sing? Don’t let that stop you. Go on stage in front of a bunch of people who have already embarrassed themselves and sing your heart out. Pick from our limited selection of songs, or bring your own.
Panels and Workshops
Learn something! Whether it’s a hands-on class for cel painting, or a discussion of the finer plot points of yaoi, there’s something for just about everyone.
Video Game Room
A veritable wonderland of controlled light and sound. Don’t think this is like playing games at home, though. We’ve got all the accessories to give the games the necessary edge.
Video Game Tournaments
In addition to having madd phat games, we’ll be having tournaments for some of those games. As with anything we do competitively, there will be prizes.
Video Rooms
Tired of walking around, standing in line, and general purpose saving the world? Duck into one of our four anime video rooms or our live-action Japanese video room and kick back in a semi-comfortable chair. You can also watch anime while you’re in there.
+ Much More
So if you want to go then
You can discuss the con here on this thread of join us at the forum !
I hope to see lots of the awesome people from GBATemp there!
EDIT: Ok, did not think I had to post this but,
