And now I'm glad I ditched my 30GB Zune

Last year Amazon had their blowout on the 30GB Zunes, at about $90 a pop for new Brown Zunes. My brother and I each got one; he loved his, I was a bit disappointing. I expected it to be responsive and usable, but then I remembered that it was a Microsoft product. So over the summer I sold mine to my brother's friend for $135. Not only did I turn a nice profit, he also ended up paying me $150(he ain't one'a dem real bright folks). Win-win for everyone, except my brother who keeps saying it was stupid of me to sell the Zune.

Well, now it's the end of 2008, a little more than a year after I bought mine. I have a GB Micro, Brawl, and a small flash-memory MP3 now, and like every other 30GB Zune owner, my brother has a brick, courtesy of faulty Microsoft firmware. Happy Y2K9 bug, everyone!

Who's laughing now?

My 30 GB iPod is slowly dying.
I need to upgrade, I was thinking about the new Zune over the iPod Classic.
The touch looks real nice, but I need space. I don't know how I would be able to work things out with my 34+ GB of music.

5 bucks says that the new firmware to fix it will cost money and won't be released for another week.

We're talking about Zunes here? I thought you were talking about Ipod touches!

Does anyone research anything? It's a problem only with 30gb zunes firmware. There's a bug in it that doesn't account for a leap year. It'll fix itself by noon tomorrow.
