American NHL fans really piss me off.

In the NHL, there's 6 Hockey teams in Canada.
There's 24 in the U.S.

The last time the Stanley Cup was won by a Canadian team was in 1993 with the Montreal Canadiens.

For the whole 2010/2011 season, the Canucks have dominated. They've dominated in every category across the board I believe. They won the President's Trophy which is given to the team who's the best in the regular season. And they hand out another trophy to the team who wins in the Conference final, and finally the Stanley Cup, the one teams play for.

Tonight the Vancouver Canucks won the Conference Final, meaning they only have to win 4 more games for the Stanley Cup, since 1994. They win tonight, and I'm looking on different team boards, mainly American teams because the Canucks are the only ones left in the Playoffs, and I've come to the realization, that majority of people, simply don't want the Stanley Cup to come back to Canada.

The Canucks this year have set the best record for their franchise in wins/losses, won numerous awards, set new records and everything. It was their 40th franchise year. They've basically become a different team who has been able to beat the top teams, that they couldn't before.

They've constantly bashed the players, calling them sissies and everything like that, while everybody in the media and hell, even other teams themselves have called the Canucks serious playoff contenders and did nothing but praise them and give them the respect that they deserve. Yet the fans simply call them fakes and all that, and say that the Eastern team (being only American team now) will win and all that. Even teams that the Canucks didn't face and eliminate in the playoffs are bashing the Canucks.

There's one moderator on the San Jose Sharks forums, who said that the Canucks deserved to lose and not even be in the playoffs, and another said that he hopes the plane for the Canucks crashes and the whole team dies.

Are you one of those fans, or are you a true one who gives credit (to any team, I just used the Canucks here for obvious reasons) to a team because the deserved it?

It's sports man, hockey at that. Haters gonna hate. Americans have always had tight panties when it comes to any sport we're not the best at.

When we started winning.

@Shadow:
Get over it. You act like it's not common place to bash opposing teams. Welcome to sports.

Bash, yes; wishing death upon them, NO. That's not bashing, that's SICK(in the bad way).

My guess would be when they got the 24th out of 30 teams in the states, with 3 being in California alone.

No, common place bashing teams is something like "YOU'RE TEAM'S GONNA LOSE!" and blah blah blah. I don't mean that, that's okay.

But saying stuff like "I hope your team's plane crashes and all of your players burn" is not.

When did this happen?

At least you seem to be an actual Canucks fan. What I don't get is the first part of your statement about the cup being in Canada. My wife is canadian and I live basically on the canadian border. This time of year the same canadians who HATE a team during the whole year suddenly start cheering for them, simply because they are canadian. I say who cares about the nationality of a team? I am a Red Wings fan, have been for many many years, and once the wings are out I couldn't care less who wins. I tend to cheer against rivals and whoever beat them, but I don't really care what country the cup ends up in. Your other statements I get, but I think you are pretty thin-skinned if these things are bothering you. Believe me, as a wings fan, I se a LOT of nasty things about them, especially online. Comes from being on top for so long. I say get used to it, the Canucks could be there for awhile, and start taking it as a compliment.

I could care less if canada wins the cup, hell unless it's my team winning I don't care if an america team wins it either...

I guess the Canucks just have to prove themselves still. Win the cup, and stay on top like the Wings. People are probably thinking it's just a fluke year.

Even if they don't win the cup this year, or next year, but still put up a fight like the Wings, then maybe they'll get some respect from people.
