4.6mb ^^ isnt that fast really when in the uk virgin internet and bt internet are already pushing upwards to 25mb and aiming for and testing 50mb in parts of london with the advances of adsl 2 then maby more
we have 8mb where we are here (uk also ) but its contention ratio sucks so i downgraded back to 3.5mb it does me and its constant 3.5mb too
I remember in 2000 I downloaded a 4MB mp3 file with 4kb/s....
Now 8 years later I download things from a private tracker with 400kb/s....I'm happy with that.

thats a 60mbps T3 connection
But really, I have no idea how it works. All I know is you will not get 8000kb/s download speed on an 8Mb connection. Whatever the advertised speed is, divide it by 10 and that'll be your download speed.
I get around 800 KB (kilobytes) a second, usually. But in the evenings it tends to halve.
Me too. Mine even drops down to 200kb/s sometimes. Damn ISP.

Very easy...take your advertised speed and divide by 8. That will convert to bytes. So if your connection advertises 8Mb, you'll get 1 MB/s max download.
omg I have 300kbps if I'm lucky... sometimes 12kbps when Bell Pathetico throttles me...
My contract ends on September 16, I can't wait until that day so I can show Bell the middle finger and switch to Videotron
I don't get the speed as advertised from Bell, 400KB/s. They advertise 7mbit, which is about 900KB/s. I'm not too annoyed or anything though because it's good enough for getting what I want when I want it and I don't get the download caps they advertise with the speed now because I haven't changed my service at all.
Still, they have some of the WORST technical support I've even had the misfortune of dealing with and I will switch ISPs as soon as another one is offered out where I live.

Speaking of meatballs, what's the deal with meatball sandwich? How can people eat those? It's ROUND. Trying to bite those in a sandwich is a challenge. It's easier to eat a burger stacked with toppings.
