A taste of Gateway 3ds

I have a 3ds XL on system menu 4.2.0-9U and i decided to purchase a Gateway 3DS. I downloaded the Beta Firmware files and read the manual and notice the blue cart is a R4i. I have a R4 cart so i decided to launch the gateway installer from it and it booted up flawlessly. I completed the installation successfully and copied the launcher.dat to the root of the SD card and followed the rest of the steps. bottom line is, i got the 3ds in the GW System menu and updated the emunand to 7.1.0-16U. So far so good, all i need is the red cart when it arrive to test a game.

:P sounds like you've got about as much patience as me! How long will your wait be? Lets hope it's not as long as our wait for 2.0f has been so far eh :P

If I wanted to play retail games and keep my 3ds at 4.5 will my Acekard 2i work for emunand if I use 2.0b1?
I can get my Acekard 2i to boot up just fine
and can still play ds games on my 4.5 3ds
I dont really care for nintendo store just wanting to play newer games while waiting for homebrew to come :D

Erm. I've got bad news bro. It seems that you must have suffered from some head damage as you evidently can't search or read.

Acekard2i =/= GW. Emunand is a gateway feature and hence you need a GW card for that.

EDIT: Retracted my comments. Didn't know about that. My bad guys.

No you don't. I have an Acekard on 4.3 (I used it to install the Gateway exploit), and have been using emunand classic mode since the feature came out to play retail copies of Pokémon and ALBW with no problems.

You simply need a DS mode flash cart to run an exploit and then run emunand.

I'm curious how your acekard 2i works on 3ds fw 4.5 since it was blocked after fw 4.4.

don't tell GW they'll probably try and put brick code into emunand. oh dam ive just given them the idea ;).

if you use a action replay with the acekard it will boot it up just as if i were to use it normally
i was messing around with it one day and was pretty happy about it cause
i was pretty bummed out when i heard they blocked the acekard
but all i would need to do it install the gateway exploit with my acekard and update emunand and retails should work?

but yea if your on fw 4.5 and have acekard 2i it will work just use an action replay with it and boot it up. :)
