5 Centimeters Per Second

This movie is really hard to find. I could easily download it, but there is no fun in that.

I am not really into anime, but I do enjoy Makoto Shinkai's work.

Hmm, I was kinda looking for some animé movies to watch, instead of all these series..
So downloading it right now. And idd, it REALLY looks detailed.

I think my favorite is The Place Promised in Our Early Days, but all of Makoto Shinkai's work is amazing. I highly recommend both Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days to the OP.

Shinkai Makoto's works are basically Wallpaper: The movie.


And to be honest, while I enjoyed his films, they're pretty much exactly the same every time.

he does nice stuff, but as oj said. they're all the same.

I watched it, but I felt like I missed something. It's 3 short stories, but more a short life part.
But I liked it too.

Just to explain, 5cm per second is the distance/speed a cherry tree's petal falls.

If you are looking for movies, maybe you could check these one I watched:
- Miyori no Mori. A sort of "mononoke hime" story, but I liked it better.
- The girl Who Leapt Through Time. A girl gain the power to go back in time for few hours
- Summer Wars. This one is maybe special, it's a mix with traditional animation with 3D-CG virtual world. It was nice nevertheless
- Brave Story. Heroic Fantasy
- Cencoroll. Though, this one is a short movie, made by students to promote their work to find a job at a professional studio. It's like discovering new talents.
- Hoshi no Koe, Or "Voices of a Distant Star" (Already suggested by Xestrix).
- The Sky Crawler. Many people find it great, I don't no action at all, only talking

I guess I'll have to watch "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" now
Edit : Oh, I already watched it in fact ! I known the Japanese title more than the english one.

Two more, but don't know if you will like :
- Tekkon Kinkreet
- Mind game
