It has been a very interesting world cup this year so far, with all these "big" nations (Germany, Argentina, Portugal, Spain) out already this early...Personally, I'd like to see one of the underdogs making it to the final and having a run for the cup.

A pity my (2nd) favorite team, Japan, almost won in the round of 16 but still couldn't hold it out until the end against Belgium; their performance has already exceeded my expectations at the beginning of the tournament, though.

And then there's Russia, the big surprise that went all the way from being called the worst team of the tournament to beating Spain on penalty to make it to the quarterfinals; it'll be interesting to see how far they'll be able to go.

Anyways...What are your thoughts?

I have to say I'm not surprised Germany's out at the group stage...They haven't been as solid and consistent as they were in the last few tournaments so far this time around...and so the winner's curse continues.

On a side note...What in the world was Neuer thinking going all the way to the other side of the field? I know he's desperate and I can understand his action if it was a free kick/corner but still it was way too risky...

I see a lot of people here on the Temp who like to list the hardwares they own in their signatures...I guess that's fine in its own way, but personally I prefer listing the games that I love in mine...Because I believe that it's the game software that we play, and not the hardware that we own, that ultimately makes us gamers.

Of course I'm not downplaying the importance of hardware...Without hardware to run on, there would be no software; but then again you can also say that without great game software, hardware platforms can't thrive either.

Hardware come and go, but games will forever stay in our hearts, as I would say.

Anyways...What do you guys think?
