I just used ModMii to hack a couple friends' Wiis and it included a newer Configurable USB Loader than my own Wii (I think I have v67 or 68 and they have v70). The new version looks a little nicer than mine. What's the easiest way to update my own Configurable USB Loader without screwing something up? Just download the new version and unzip all files into the directories overriding everything or what? Thanks for any help.

There are instructions for updating here. If your Wii is connected to the Net, the easiest way is just to use the online update feature within Cfg itself as specified. The offline update method is also provided.

Edit: Oops, just noticed the new page and realised I was beaten. Not used to the new forum theme yet.

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this.

I've got several games that, when I load them, the game is shifted down off of the screen. I think it's with the PAL games, and my machine is NTSC. The one that I'm having problems with right now is Army Men - soldiers of misfortune.

I've played with different options, but can't seem to get it to work.

Any suggestions for me?

Thanks.

Your best option is to try forcing video to NTSC.

Filter ist not the best...

I hope the programmer could insert a Filter where i self can insert my own games in a list.

So i can fast Load my Favourite Games.

Over 300 Games in ABC order ist a bit much to find the Favourite Games.

Greets, Holzfliege

Clarifying on the other explanation you got, the feature you want is the 'favorite' list. You can set this with the Configurator or in the options for each game to manage which games are your favourites. You can also set several profiles, each with its own list of favourites. By default, the 2 button sets you into favourites mode so that only your favourites are displayed, but you can set the options up to start the loader in favourites mode if you like and set the 2 button to switch between profiles, perhaps.

hey are there going to be any new realeses?

There will be if we have time to do anything or there is an important update required. Our personal lives are very busy at the moment and none of us has had the time to really do anything on Cfg lately. Thankfully, there's no truly pressing issues.

please help me

There's not really anything we can do to help. WBFS drives are known to fail randomly once you have a significant number of games on them, especially if you delete games occasionally. This seems to be a problem that occurs when they were formatted and is a ticking time bomb. If that is your problem, the only thing you really can do is switch to another format.

update: I found excite truck works and so does mad wrold and mario kart.
nothing else does though but I forgot I updated my wii shopping channel too would that have anything to do with the error?

How is your drive formatted? If WBFS, then this is almost certainly the WBFS drive corruption issue. If that's the case, there's no real solution apart from reformatting the drive, although some games will start to fail or even fix themselves at random if you install or delete other games.

Also, is there any chance that you have saved per-game options for those particular games and not others? If so, see what is different between them.

I would really like to suggest that the change that was provided on page 1044, to allow a configurable cheat location, be implemented into the core. While it's very nice to have cheat functionality in this loader, it doesn't use the same cheat location that other applications do. And the cheat management feature of CFG doesn't let you modify codes that require it, which causes problems.

Right now, the only real solutions to those, are to download the codes manually (with any of the cheat management apps on HBB, such as Accio), then make edits to the code field (which is a feature of Accio, specifically for doing that), and then create the .gct, and THEN have to move it to the codes folder for CFG, either with WiiXplorer or by use of a computer.

If it were just patched to allow the cheat location to be changed, then it could readily be pointed at /codes/ on the SD/USB of choice. And it seems the actual code work was done, so would just have to be recompiled as an official patch.

Please? smile.gif

I'm pretty sure Cfg uses both the <base-dir>/codes AND /codes locations already, so if that is the location you want, then no change is necessary.

Just got this installed. In the instructions it says you can set it up to have it save the covers to the usb hard drive instead of the SD card. I moved the sd:/usb-loader folder to usb:/usb-loader but it doesn't seem to be finding it. Additionally, when I go to the Save Settings button in the system options, it says that sd:/usb-loader can't be found. How do I tell it to use the hard drive instead of the sd?

Edit: To be clear, the USB hard drive is FAT32.

Double check that you have the config.txt file in /usb-loader on the drive and that config.txt isn't on the sd card at all (delete or rename the /usb-loader directory on the SD if it exists). That should hopefully get it working.
