EZ 3 in 1 Rumble function (using AKAIO)

24 August 2011 - 05:51 PM

Hello!

Just bought a 3 in 1 (GBA size) for my good 'ol DS Phat.

Using AKAIO 1.8.8 and *almost* everything works OK. Except for the Rumble function.

Games that support it, detect the card fine but I can't 'feel' the rumble (tried Bomberman 2 (E) and also that DiaGnoSe tool).

Of course, I set the default rumble configuration for the 3 in 1 using AKAIO, and even for a specific game. But without luck.

Like I said everything else works OK, including the GBA games (and NOR), the Opera Browser, etc...

Do I need to do something special when using AKAIO or the rumble mechanism is simply broken? (not a big deal, just bought it for the GBA games, and at least they work great).

Is there another way to test it?

Thanks.

Edit. Tried this:

But no luck. So I guess the rumble function is REALLY broken. Oh well, like I said, not a big deal.

Wii turns inmediately off when external HDD is on

04 June 2011 - 04:41 PM

Hello!

So... I just bought a generic enclosure for a 160 GB 3.5'' SATA HDD for my PC. It works just fine and decided to try it on my Wii.

However when I plugged it (-both the USB cable and the external power cable-) and turned it on, and then turned on the Wii, the Wii turned off by itself a second later. So I had to turn off the HDD and unplug/plug again the Wii (I have to do this every time if the HDD is on upon starting).

Now, if I turn ON the Wii with the HDD OFF, and then turn it ON when the Wii menu shows, it works just fine, and WiiFlow and CFG USB Loaders work just fine too (the games load and they work).

Just wondering, if something similar has happened to any of you and if there's a way to get around it... other than turn the HDD off and then On again everytime just when the Wii has started (I don't mind to do it, however perhaps my brother forgets to turn it off and then if I start the Wii that way I will have to unplug/plug it),

...and of course other than getting another enclosure LOL.

Thanks for your help and time.

Request: Compile latest DS2Key source code (r48)

26 February 2011 - 04:35 AM

Hello!

This is a 'small request'. Could someone compile the latest source code from DS2Key?
http://code.google.com/p/ds2key/source/checkout

I managed to compile the server, but for some reason, I can't get the Client (the NDS file) compiled, I always end getting a bunch of errors using the latest devkitpro (1.50) and I just give up lol.

But, I wonder if someone of you can get it working... would be cool if you compile both of them (client and server), in case I did something wrong with the Server (for Windows) too heh.

The reason?

Well, DS2Key works pretty fine for me (better than Win2DS or RTDS), however, sometimes the buttons get 'stuck'. But according to some of the latest revisions (a couple of years ago), seems he managed to fix the issue adding another protocol, but he never compiled it, from rev47:

(Server) Added support for a new protocol that decreases button press misses
and eliminates stuck buttons.

Would be pretty awesome if I can get the latest version up to rev48.

Thanks in advance guys.

Repairing Genuine Vista with 'backup' Vista disk?

08 July 2010 - 04:32 PM

Hello!

So I have an Acer Laptop and Windows Vista Home Premium. The problem is that it became unstable, I'm getting constant file system corruption and some stuff, like Windows Update and IE do no work. It's still usable, but sometimes I have to run chkdsk before the system starts.

I do have the ACER reinstall discs that I created at the beginning, the problem is that they reinstall everything to factory settings and I can't repair with those discs, just reinstall. Just don't wanna do it, I would like first attempt a repair process without reinstall everything (like the windows upgrade process).

Anyway, the question here is... If I use a pirate or downloaded Windows Vista DVD and attempt to repair Windows without reinstall everything, does it mess up the original license? From what I've gathered it asks you a key at the beginning... can I use the original windows key that came with the laptop? Will I be able to validate windows after that?

I'm not sure if the full repair messes up the license or something... just don't wanna loose it.

Thanks a lot guys!
