Hi guys!
I found out today that my parents & siblings are saving up for an smartphone as my examination present!
My dad told me beforehand so that I'll be able to choose which one i want, the thing is, there's so many phones, and i'm having trouble deciding.
Initially they were going to buy me the iPhone 3G, but since that a bit too expensive (if i don't add 100$ on my own) I'll have to choose another one.
The price range is around 600$, i'm willing to add around 100$ to get another one though, if that's alot better.
The ones i'm currently looking at are the "Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1", "LG KM900 Arena" and "HTC Touch HD"
(They're buying it directly with cash payment, no subscription)
The "required" features i'm looking at are:
Quite powerful CPU, prefer to have a quite known model, so that many programs work for it, and maybe able to clock it.
Bluetooth (of course)
Enough RAM (256MB is prefered) and the ROM should be big enough so you can update to a new OS that takes a bit more place if that is released
Upgradeable memory (microSD/miniSD or something like that, i prefer not to use sonys memory sticks)
Wi-Fi
Touch functionality
Java MIDP 2.0
Other than that, I'd prefer to have Windows 6 (or newer) as OS, but i could go with another one if the OS supports extra programs and isn't so locked down.
Multimedia functionalities are quite important too, i'd like to watch DivX movies and the likes, preferably without the need to convert them, and TV-out would be nice.
A camera are on most phones, so that isn't so important, I'd like one above 2MP atleast though.
Thanks in advance my fellow 'tempers!

17000 DS Lites stolen
07 November 2008 - 07:55 PM

Last weekend, 17 000 DS Lites with a value of about 25 Million Swedish Kronor (about 3.2 Million dollars) was stolen from a shipment to Sweden in the city of Gothenburg (Göteborg), where Bergsala (see pictures) - the distributor of Nintendo products in Scandinavia and the baltic states headquarter resides.
Bergsala putted out a 10 000 Swedish Kronor reward for the one giving advice enough for the police for it to lead to the recovery of a significiant part of the consoles.
Yesterday Nintendo increased the reward up to 100 000 Kronor, which will more likely than the a bit low reward of 10 000 Swedish Kronor lead to a recovery of the consoles.
To make amend for this loss, Nintendo of Japan has sent an immediate shipment of DS Lites to Sweden.
These DS Lites were meant for the christmas market in Sweden, and thus are very important to Bergsala, as Sweden at this point has a lack of DS Lite consoles.
Main source at Swedish websites, but Kotaku has also reported on this:

Going to France in 2 weeks.
17 June 2008 - 03:37 PM
I didn't know if i would put this in my blog, or here, in the general off topic chat, but i felt that this is more of an open discussion about places to go to, in France.
Yeah.., so me an my family is going to france for 2½ weeks (by car).
4 of those days we'll spend in Paris, We're going to see the Eiffel tower, go to Disneyland (2 days at Disneyland) ,visit the Louvre Museum, and some science museum, which i right now can't remember its name.
other than that, we're going to see other famous stuff in paris, such as "The Arc de Triomphe"
Any other particular suggestions on what to see/go to in Paris?
the rest of those 2 weeks, we're going to spend in Sète (or somewhere in that area, not exactly decided where yet) by the Mediterranean.
Yeah, well I guess you could give suggestion of other places as well, if you got anything on mind, but we're probably not going to go far away from those 2 places, so keep it nearby.
We're going to be away for 3+ weeks as i previously said, 2½ weeks in france, and about 2 days in germany (it's on the way to france..) and a day or two in belgium(don't know exactly why, but it's not too far away, and it'll be another country on our list
, as we've previously been to germany, france, and denmark)
So.. bring on the suggestions

About starting nintendo channel in maintenance mode
06 June 2008 - 07:09 PM
I just for the fun of it started my Wii up in maintenance mode.. then when i were to start the nintendo channel, there were no animation.
you know the animation while you see the "Wii Menu, Start" buttons.
but you hear the sound effects..
I'm also incapable to connect to the nintendo channel while in maintenance mode. nvm, just had problems the first time starting it in maintenance mode..
but you still can't see the animation, thought it was kind of weird, because i haven't seen any other changes while in the maintenance mode else.. (except the message board..)
if i'd to guess i would say that it's just a bug.. but i don't know..
Any other changes you've noticed yet?
