In Topic: EA to support crowd funded projects via Origin

Seems like a good move to me. The only way to ever be able to take on Steam is by attracting everyone, including indie developers. If they still allow developers to release their games on Steam as well, this could give a boost to EA's image.

It's not really the compression that I have a problem with as I know that will probably be fixed in the final version. It's the downgraded framerate (60FPS vs. 30FPS) when I know that the 3DS can handle 60FPS Origins.

How can you be so sure of that? I know the 3DS is a pretty powerful handheld, but this game was primarily designed for systems like the PS3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Vita. Running it in a lower resolution on the Wii is one thing, but rendering it twice to create a 3D effect on the 3DS is something else entirely.

But I do agree that the port seems to be worse than it could be. Disregarding the 30 fps, the game sometimes seems to loop sounds and stuff like that. It's really a shame, since the same game felt so fluid on the PS3.

Sly 1 I'll agree with you on, it was pretty bad. Sly 2 and Sly 3's hub-based missions were a ton better though. So many people start with Sly 1 and think the series sucks without trying Sly 2 or 3.

Really? I've bought the collection a while ago and I have only had the time to play the first game, but I loved it. To be honest, I was a bit worried the other two games were going to be worse.

As for Sly 4: the option to play it on Vita would be great, but only if you get it for free (or at least at a discounted price) with the PS3 version. I don't see myself buying a game twice just to play it on a portable system.

Sure it's still a demo and like what happened with RE:R a lot of things can change. Like music and sound and texture compression for example.

I'm curious to know about Resident Evil: Revelations. Was that game improved on since the demo? I didn't really notice any problems in the demo, it was great.

As for Rayman Origins, it's clear that they tried to get the exact same game running on the 3DS, but it just doesn't have the power or the screen size for it. It was still fun to play though, and I'll certainly get it if it's ends up being as cheap as the console versions are now.

In Topic: Mirror's Edge 2 & Battlefield: Bad Company 3 on developers CVs

I cannot believe people in this thread didn't like Mirror's Edge. It felt really fresh to me, it had an awesome look and the gameplay was really addictive. To each his own I guess, but I'll certainly be looking forward to a second game.
