Apple Magic Trackpad Driver for windows X86/X64

01 August 2010 - 11:02 AM

Maybe you did notice many website talks about the availability of Magic Trackpad drivers for windows...

But once you download them and double click... Yes... this is only for windows running through BootCamp.

You want to use your magic trackpad on your PC? You simply need to extract the drivers from the package, here is how you do this:

Get the 32Bit/64Bit version depending on your windows version:

32bit:
Magic Trackpad Driver 32bit
64Bit:
Magic Trackpad Driver 64bit

Then download latest version of 7zip (9.10) (google is you friend) and open it once to set up the preference for the contextual menu.

(I'll only describe the procedure for the 32bit version, but I suppose it's exactly the same for the 64bit).

Locate the BootCamp update you just downloaded it's name should be "BootCamp_3.1.35_X86.exe" for the 32 bit version.

Right click then choose "7zip/ Extract to "/BootCamp_3.1.35_X86"

Open that folder, find the file called "[0]" it's a little more than 6MB, right click /7zip/ extract to "[0]".

Now inside that folder there is a file called "BootCampUpdate32.msp", guess what? Yes! right click 7zip/extract to "BootCampUpdate32"

Inside that folder there is many folders, but some are more interresting than others, try for example "BootCamp3135fToBootCamp3135", others are similar, only the letter after "3135" change, I guess this is the language.

Open that folder and have a look at "Binary.AppleWirelessTrackpad_Bin", and do the final right click/ 7zip/extract to"Binary"

Have a look inside, BINGO! here are your windows drivers, just click on "DPInst.exe" and follow the instructions, and have fun! moogle.gif

Does an homebrew like this exist?

23 May 2009 - 05:06 PM

I remember when DSi was out on japan, some guys started to try to hack it...

I first saw Yasu's helloworld, then some guys using fake commercial cards...

But I remember one guy using an homebrew...

Interface was like the "TTDS fake checker" => plain black with black text on top.

It was called "DSTT Adv cart tester" or something like this.

1:You put a flashcard on you DS/DSi.

2:You run this homebrew.

3: you remove your flashcard.

4: You put another one.

5: Press A: It boots (and on the video was actually a DSi, running perfectly old TTDS/U2DS).

Does someone remember this video (I saw it on youtube), have a link for this app?

Or maybe it could be interesting to develop this kind of homebrew. unsure.gif

[TUTORIAL]So, your flashcard isn't recognized by your DS?

25 January 2009 - 04:34 PM

So, your R4 (or any other flashcard) is not detected by your DS (especially lite)?

But it's recognized by another one?

QUOTE
Reason: Nintendo changed the size of slot one's contact, making them more short, and so, some badly made flashcards are not recognized by this new DS (or some old one)...

Here's the way to fix:

Open your flashcard front facing you:

Then rotate it:

And on this red part, place a little adhesive tape on it:

This will make the contacts between flashcard contacts/slot-1 more easy.

It doesn't work?

PUT ANOTHER LAYER OF TAPE on the first one!

And have fun! yaynds.gif

FAQ:

Q: I already tried to place some paper on my flashcard it doesn't work.
A: Placing paper directly on flashcard without opening it only act on the card's shell (already perfectly sized), the problem come from the pcb inside the shell which is too thin, so adding some tape behind the contacts, helps getting a good contact between flashcard pcb/Slot-1

Q:But... i don't want to open my flashcard, I'm scared cry.gif .
A: So... just return it to your reseller, or ask someone to do this for you.

Q:Is this dangerous?
A: No, as long as you do not use metallic adhesive tape and don't put too too much tape at first try (like 7 layer at once laugh.gif ).

Q: Can we reverse this mod?
A: Yes, as simple as removing tape. ^^

Q: Will my flashcard still work on my previously DS where it was recognized?
A: Yes, and sometimes even better.

Q:Success rate?
A: 100% for now (from what I saw), if it doesn't work, it's because your card is really faulty, or it's booting data is corrupted (so check dstt recovery if it's a dstt).

Official DS Expanson Pak + GBA Game?

10 January 2009 - 07:03 PM

Hi everyone!

I'm wondering if one homebrew actually use the official NDS expansion pak (found with the cartridge of opera nds browser).

And also if something like the GBA exploader was possible (maybe to run up to 8MB GBA games)?

Would be nice if someone was capable to develop this kind of software (as I believe putting data on the official expansion pak is as easy as putting data on the ez 3in1)...

So does even one homebrew use it? smile.gif

EDIT: Well I checked some hombrew... already found two compatible: SnemulDS and picodrive.

Maybe others are compatible?

EDIT2: Found the answer to my GBA related question:
QUOTE
The Opera RAM pack can be used by homebrew apps, but no it cannot play GBA games. This is because the GBA starts execution at a certain address and the writable portion of the RAM pack doesn't start until after that point.

So now I only search homebrew that use this ram pak if you know them (maybe a list)...

So, there's nothing to do with a DSVision alone?

01 December 2008 - 11:22 AM

Hi everyone.

I just received my DSVision Adapter Package from japan:

This only contain the DSVision itself (no MicroSD or MicroSD Adapter) so that's why it's cheap.

And then I discovered that the software/Card don't want to read third party microSD card (real from kingston or fake) (it even don't want to format them!! nothing happen).

And if you insert the card inside:

So now I'm stuck unless a group try to find the protection behind this. sleep.gif

Anyway, the card itself is really well made, the microSD fit perfectly, so this is a cool piece of collection (for your museum of horror ^^).

I'll maybe try next to buy one of the DSVision pokemon movie when I'll got the cash for it (this way I'll get the infamous microSD missing from this package).

I really hope some person will try to do something with this protection... (like creating a formatter which format like nintendo does when they sale those microSD cards).

EDIT: The software itself is composed of two main files: DSvisionDL.exe and SDDetector.dll i believe that sddetector is the one who check if the MicroSD is legit.
There's also a setting file called "programSetting.xml" you can edit it, (like redirecting the built in webbrowser to another website (I had fun redirecting it to google or a infamous shock site ^^).
Other information: The exe and dll are not encrypted so you can easily modify the text string in it, i'm right now trying to translate the software in english as much as possible.
EDIT2: That's what i thought, no crc check apparently on the software, I've began to translate it for fun (it will be hard to extract the picture, translate them and re-inject them...).
