not sure what to do about my firmware?

i'm on factory firmware 3.1.3 and i really want to update. at some point i would also like to jailbreak but haven't done it yet so i need to ask

1 the best way to back up my blobs (lol ok still funny)
2 update to a firmware that would leave me able to jailbreak in the future (i.e. 4.0 etc) as i'm not sure how to go about this
3 is it really worth me jailbreaking and what would be the advantages

i need to do a firmware upgrade from the 4.2e i put on recently and want to know if i put the 4.3e wad on what will i have to put back on/what will stop working (homebrew channel, additional channels i've added)
i didn't realise when i brought smg2 that the update to 4.3e would be needed and don't wanna loose the homebrew channel if i can help it.
is 4.3e a problematic wad or will it run the same.
i neeeeeeeeeed to get this disc running by teatime so any help is very grateful.

ok this is getting on my nerves and i really don't need some troll telling me to do searches i have for 2 days straight

i have a LEH..... model wii with 4.1e with the homebrew channel on and bootmii

i can't install 236,priiloader or wad manager

what the heck in hell am i missing??

i just broke the screen on my beloved psp 2000 and i feel sick

i need to get a new one but i'm not sure which one to get so i need some advice please

i want one similar to beasts and bumpkins (cracking game wish this would work on the psp) or even something similar to stronghold or evony.
any ideas which one it would be for the psp or would that be asking too much? lol
