My sources today have informed me that Ghostbusters The Video Game is out and I plan to get it. The question is its safe to play the game early or is there a high chance of risking a ban? Should I just disconnect my Xbox 360 till the game is released or should I just leave it on? I've never played an early release before so I want to take all precautions before I play the game on my Xbox. Any information you guys have would be awesome, even theories.
What about creating an offline profile and playing the game while disconnected? I wouldn't mind playing the game again to get the achievements on my real profile.

New Anti-Copying Measures For DS Games

Nintendo and six other publishers have announced that it will be working with Metaforic's MetaFortress technology in order to combat piracy. Metaforic's Andrew Mclennan, a former game developer behind this project was interviewed on Gamasutra.com.
Andrew Mclennan admits that there is no stopping pirates and his sole purpose of this project is to slow down the rate of piracy by inject a security scheme into the game itself; turning each game into its own security system. He claims that, "We add so much security to it that it will take a very long time to hack." Metaforic's technology at its most basic level detects the form of patching that the R4 cards use to play ROMS, and then proceeds to "kill" the ROM. He boldly claimed that Metaforic's solution is firmware patch resistant. "There is no firmware patch that they can apply that will stop our protection -- I can't tell you why that is, though."
A more and fully detailed interview can be found at http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=23529.

Xbox Live Ban Question
14 April 2009 - 03:11 PM
I have 2 Xbox 360's and one is soft modded with the latest firmware by iXtreme; the other left untouched. The not hacked one is plugged into the internet and is used to play my legit games and play online. On my second Xbox I play all my "backups" and is not connected to the internet. I use the same profile for both. Can Microsoft know if I played pirated games when I go online with my profile on my not hacked Xbox? When they ban, do they actually just ban your console, or do they ban both your profile and console?
Long and Forgotten Wii User

Hello fellow GBATemps!
I need your help! It seem theirs been a lot that has happened to the Wii community and I have not been keeping up. Its been a good year almost since I last played the on Wii. If I remember correctly the last time I recall playing it was when the Zapper came out. Anyways, I came to ask questions and hope someone could point me in the right direction as well as to get me up to date with the newest stuff.
Basic information: My Wii is modded with the WiiKey chip (the first kind, not clone) and firmware is ~ 3.0
Questions:
1. Is it safe to update the Wii if you have it modded? Has Nintendo taken any actions against any chips?
2. Have their been any new updates for the WiiKey since the second update they released? The one with the naked butt of the girl on the screen.
3. How can I install the Homebrew Channel, and what are some stuff that I can run off it? Is it worth installing? Is it safe to use? Is it safe to use after the new updates?
4. Loaders? Whats that?!
5. Can you now run games of a USB?! Can you softmod your Wii now?
6. What are some new games that you recommend for me to try?
Thanks!
