Ohhhh SSBB

31 October 2011 - 12:31 AM

I did some research around here and see posts similar to mine but nothing I've come across quite worked though i'm willing to attempt anything. I am attempting to boot my SSBB backup(8.3 gb ISO pre WBFS) in Wiiflow, I get the black error screen with code and it then reloads back to HBC. I loaded Xenoblade(another dual layer title) and it runs perfect as always so I assume it's not a dual layer IOS problem. I was wondering if anyone has an idea why it is I can't get this particular game to load? All input is appreciated! Thanks!

Soft MOD'ed Wii updates?

19 May 2011 - 12:54 AM

I have my Wii soft modded with the homebrew channell, priiloader, wad manager, a few other apps and Configurable USB Loader. Now I see some games freezing occasionally and I just swapped my games to a brand new hard drive. I updated CFG USB Loader and it boots about half the time but definitely boots when I tell it to load CIOS 222 V4. So my assumption is I'm missing some cIOSes that others may have been updating their Wii with over time. My list in CFG USB Loader states I have IOS222 Base 38+37 V4, IOS222 Base 38+60 rev 4 as well as 249 56 rev 20, and 250 56 rev 20 (r65535). It states i'm missing IOS 224/245-248. Are these crucial, is there a means to keep your CIOSes up to date with 1 app? Love the feedback! Thanks!

Games occassionaly freezing?

02 December 2010 - 03:42 PM

I have had all my games running on the soft-MODed Wii no problem, lockups aren't frequent but occasional and I think it may be because my external hard drive is a little older and may be occasionally failing. I wasn't sure if anyone has had a similar problem with a newer hard drive or even the same with an older one. Just curious if it's potentially an occasional failure on behalf of the whole soft modding or if it's odds are the hard drive. The soft MOD setup is just CFG USB Loader and all proper CIOSes, though for more in-depth specs the only 2 titles to freeze have been Donkey Kong Country Returns (once or twice now in a week of like 20 hours of play.) and Monster Hunter Tri locked up for the first time ever last night. Both lock up on loading screens, it's never in the midst of game player and the CIOS I'm using with CFG is the hermes 222 mload pack.

Thanks in advance for all input!

Is my Picard av okay even though it swears?

The confusion!

So where to start.

The discs/burning:
This is my first stab at soft modding my Wii and I am decently tech savy. I have a modded DS and come from the days of supercard 1 gba slot solution. Basicly I have 2 games i'm attempting to run from dvd backups. The first title is No More Heroes 2 and it's the NTSC/U version. The other title is Monster Hunter Tri, also NTSC/U. I have extracted the rars and burnt the isos at 2x or 4x with alcohol 120% with basic image disc burn options. Just to add to that note I've also used the following media for Monster Hunter Tri: Verbatim dual layer dvd+r, maxell 4.7 gb. Now I come from the days of PS2 modding and backups so I know maxell is probably 3rd best brand, followed by Verbatim in 2nd and Taiyo Yuden in 1st. So I assume Maxell is a high enough quality dvd but I used verbatim as a 2nd guess/attempt.

The Wii:
I installed homebrew channell, installed dark corp, installed Dop Mii and CIOS 38 Rev 17. I followed a GBATemp guide that had me install some select cios' and then attempted to load my backup via the disc channell and only got let down so then resorted to NeoGamma R8 IOS 249 Rev 17. Using NeoGamma I found disc read error 1167 for the 2 titles put on maxell discs and the same result for the 2x burn on the verbatim for monster hunter tri.

Mind you all my knowledge i've accumulated has been via the ever so useful forums over the past 2 days and ALSO! I bought and used the a wii lens cleaner as suggested in other areas. I wouldn't post this without some vast research but I feel the forums or internet is too broad to refine to just MY solution.

Thanks for the help and i'll check back frequently!
