I didn't see anything posted regarding this here, but I found this:

The app will patch the eboot of a game that requires a higher firmware...right on the memory card itself. Since I have a few slim units here, I have one that I kept on m33-6 for specific reasons. I tested it with Ghostbusters, GT, GTA: Chinatown Wars and a few other titles. Worked perfectly and decrypted the games just fine to run on the m33-6 system. So, if you are dead set on keeping m33-6, you might find this tool a necessity (not to mention easy to use). Here's a youtube link with video of it in action as well:

Bought a brand new Gamecube today...
16 October 2009 - 12:54 AM
Every time I visit this particular Walmart in my area, I see a poor old Gamecube sitting behind Wii boxes in the glass case. It has literally been sitting there for years. Well, today I decided to ask the salesguy to price check it. He's like "It's probably still $100". So, I told him, just CHECK it anyway. It was price reduced to $49. So I said, the heck with it. Might have been the very last chance to get one fresh and new. Imagine that...buying a new GC in Oct 2009
I don;t think I am even going to open it. I'll just cram it away with some of my other "new" consoles
RELEASE: v4.2 Safe Firmware Updater
07 October 2009 - 12:13 AM
This is based off of my offline guide to upgrade any console (that has NOT been region hacked) to v4.2 safely. This is a modification of the Shop Channel and IOS61 Installer by tona. It has been rigorously tested and should not brick anyone, but as usual, use it at your own risk. Source included of course.
It will detect your region, download and install all of the NECESSARY IOSes, your specific system menu, and the shopping channel update from v4.2 It will NOT touch your cIOSes, stub anything, or touch your boot2. It also will NOT trucha sign any of the IOSes it downloads and installs. If you want to pirate, you'll have to go ahead and use DOP-IOS or similar to trucha patch your IOS70 after the upgrade is complete
It is almost completely automated. Answer a question in the beginning, sit back and relax, and wait for the update to be completed. When finished, you'll be on v4.2 with everything functional (no upside down HBC, no "vulnerable IOS not found" errors). This should hopefully eliminate all of the goofy issues people have been having with the upgrade.
Thanks to Dr.Clipper for MUCH help
Enjoy

IF YOU HAVE A REGION HACKED WII (IE: YOUR WII WAS KOREAN AND YOU HACKED IT TO REPORT AS A USA CONSOLE), DO NOT PERFORM *ANY* V4.2 UPDATE. NOT THIS OR THE ORIGINAL NINTENDO UPDATE!

Question about IOS70, NUSD and DOP-IOS...
02 October 2009 - 12:48 AM
As you know, IOS70 is used for system menu 4.2. When I installed it via DOP-IOS and enabled trucha, VC games could be copied to the SD card and they will work. But, I wanted to download and pack a wad of the IOS (and trucha) as well. I used NUSD as always, downloaded and checked off to trucha sign. wrote changes and saved. But. launching from the SD with this installed would not work. Does anyone know why? DOP-IOS using a different method of trucha signing?
Trucha back in a virgin 4.2?
30 September 2009 - 10:24 PM
I grabbed a copy of Indy and gave it a try today on a virgin 4.2U. Worked fine, then attempted TBR to get trucha back in. Of course it does not work and will most likely have to be updated. So, I am assuming nobody has found a way to get trucha back in on virgin system yet?
On a side note, the new bootmii recovery DOES restore older nand dumps
