I had the original SCL like 3-4days after it was announced and it was indeed hard to pull out. When the new black one was announced, i got my original SCL replaced for the new one. And that one was DEFINITELY less tight and less hard to pull out. I really don't know why you are saying that it is worse :S

But i do agree with you that the MicroSD slot improved, the card is sitting much safer now.

I just received my black SCL and it's definitely better than the original white one, but still a little hard to remove. But it looks alot better in my black ds lite, especially beacause the micro sd card is black too, that was awful in the white one.
