Well, after almost 2 weeks since I ordered it, this VGA box:

FINALLY arrived. While I was waiting, what I did with the monitor in the meantime was connect it to my laptop and then turned it into a dual monitor so that I can play movies as well as do web browsing. A few days later I decided to bite the bullet and bought a cheap 19" HDTV which actually handles retro games a little better than my 32" HDTV. So anyways, here's my quick thought on the VGA box.
I connected it to my old flat panel monitor and then hooked my N64 up to it. My first con is that this VGA requires power and as a result, it means one less power point to connect my other consoles to it. My other problem is that trying to play US games on my 64drive flashcart gives a lot of funky weird scrambled signals. I'm sure a few more tweaking in the options should fix it but it's not high on my "must want" list. PAL games play great and there's a certain satisfaction in playing a game on an SDTV (well, a flat panel PC monitor but it still feels like my old 90's TV) which kinda hides the imperfection that HDTV exposes and blows up to show you.
In conclusion, what can you do with a flat panel monitor? Surprisingly, hooking it up to a PC/Laptop as a second monitor was my favourite but my original intention was to place it in my room as a gaming monitor and unfortunately I didn't like the idea because it means more and more wires crawling over my floor and on my desk. I'll probably end up hiding it in the cupboard like the tech hoarder I am in just in case someone needs a monitor for their PC.

For the people wondering what I got given, it's this one:

Not widescreen but it's small and perfect enough to put in my bedroom. I ordered a VGA converter box so I'm hoping it'll work:

The dual monitor idea is kinda tempting because I do have a 9800GT graphics card so in theory but I'll see if it works as a retro gaming screen first.

In Topic: EZ Flash iV needs miniSD?

I have that card and it only takes miniSD cards. The link you provided shows "1gb micro SD WITH adapter". An EZ Flash IV won't take micro SD cards on its own but with that adapter, it'll work.
In Topic: PS2 HDD loading via USB/Expansion Bay?

I think ebay is the only place you can get a network adapter nowadays but the convenience of having ALL my PS2 isos on a HDD combined with a slightly faster loading time makes this a great investment. As for 80gb HDD, I highly recommend getting more. 250gb is the minimum for your games in my opinion.
Also, forget buying from ebay US. If you look for a network adapter on ebay UK, they're selling them for something like €30. This one combines both a 200gb HDD and the network adapter itself.

Best to ask if the seller ships to Cyprus first before buying but it shouldn't be a problem.

In Topic: cIOSX rev21d2x: Yet Another Hot Fix!!!!

I have a question. I updated my Wii's cIOS using the V8 version of d2x but now I can't seem to install wads from my USB anymore with Wad Manager 1.7. It used to work on my rev17 version (yeah, that was a long time ago) but now I don't know how to fix it.
