i was wondering is any dvd drive from another wii compatible with it or which one is the best to get. and if i get one of the newer models, would that diminish my hacking ability?

ok so i took out my wii dvd drive since it died. its a dms from early 2006
i was wondering is any dvd drive from another wii compatible with it or which one is the best to get. and if i get one of the newer models, would that diminish my hacking ability?

i need help, every time i try to load Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, it boots mii to the wii menu.
im using usb loader gx on us wii rev 874
