One more thing ... after making the kernel, make sure that /boot is mounted before copying over the new images. If /boot isnt mounted, you cant copy files to that partition, and therefore, cant reboot into a new kernel.

Seems like this has all come together nicely. I am looking forward to see how well these ideas are implemented. And having the show up on Monday night will be a nice change of pace.
