Is this normal?

18 November 2010 - 04:57 PM

Hi guys!

It all started after I'd a failed jailbreak (although I succeeded at a later date) and got white screen. I manage to shut down my iPhone and turn it back on. However, it requests me to restore with iTunes. So I did so. Then, I realise that while restoring, at the "Verifying iPhone ... bla bla" part, my iPhone's screen turn white for a few seconds, before the Apple logo shows up and the restoring procedure continues. The restore process still succeeded, but I want to know if the white screen while restoring is normal, as I fear the white screen had got something to do with my failed jailbreak and had already broke the components inside the phone (since I'm an extremely paranoid person) frown.gif

Thanks and have a nice day.

Why I'm not going to get the 3DS

27 June 2010 - 03:17 PM

QUOTE
Synopsis:
The 3DS has improved somewhat from the last gen DS, but not enough to beat the PSP, in my opinion. They've stole the analog stick from the PSP. WTF?!?!?!?!?! Nintendo, can't you think of your OWN ideas to improve your handheld system? 3D graphics, PSP had it first.
Metal Gear Solid, PSP had it first. Analog stick, PSP had it first. It still has an awful small screen.

QUOTE
Important Points:
1. Sony suddenly became the inventor of analog stick
2. Sony suddenly became the inventor of N64
3. Slide pad of 3DS feels EXACTLY the same as slide nub of PSP
4. 3DS is a rip off of PSP

I was laughing throughout video biggrin.gif

Okay, I know, he's a kid, and I'm not going to get into cyberbully business.

Just post this video for your enjoyment!

Edit: Is this alright to be here? Or should this be in EoF? I really have no idea frown.gif

Nunchuk Help?

25 June 2010 - 04:12 PM

Hi guys!

I'm having some problem with the motion sensing for Nunchuk since yesterday.

I was playing Monster Hunter Tri, and out of a sudden, my Nunchuk seems to sense my motion despite the fact that I didn't move my {left} hand. Okay, save for stuffs like picking up herbs, but when I'm doing quest, the moment I approach the supply item box, *poof*, the supply item dialog came out. However, once I press B, the supply item dialog went down, but came up automatically by itself again. The only way to stop this is to unplug my nunchuk. And trust me, this gets EXTREMELY IRRITATING especially when doing quests.

I decided to test it out with Wii Sport's Boxing, since it supports motion sensing of nunchuk, and to my surprise, my nunchuk could only work on horizontal axis (left/right) and not vertical axis (up/down).

Rebooted my Wii, cleaned my connector plug and have done all the necessary procedures, but it still didn't work. Tried with my friend's nunchuk, and everything was perfect.

I did some googling and found out that some people have the same problem. Some claimed that smacking nunchuk works (which didn't for me ... or maybe I didn't smack it very hard), while others said that the accelerometer in the nunchuk is loose, and the only way to fix it is to disassemble the nunchuk.

Any idea fellow tempers?

Thanks!

Nintendo to treat boy's lazy eyes

25 June 2010 - 07:51 AM

QUOTE
A SIX-YEAR-OLD British boy was given an unusual prescription to treat a lazy eye - play video games.

Ben Michaels was referred to the hospital after his school nurse noticed the problem with his sight.

But rather than just patch his eye, Dr Ken Nischal, ophthalmic surgeon at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital, recommended he play a Nintendo DS or Game Boy for two hours a day, Sky News reported today.

After a week the sight in his weak eye improved by 250 per cent.

Ben's mother, Maxine Michaels, said: "When he started he could not identify our faces with his weak eye.

"Now he can read with it although he is still a way off where he ought to be.”

Ben, from Billericay in Essex, southern England, was one of 60 children taking part in a pioneering program at the London clinic.

There was scientific proof that patching a good eye and making a lazy eye do a repetitive task could improve vision, Dr Nischal said.

"I then deduced that a game such as Nintendo or Game Boy would reproduce a similar effect, in that it involves concentrating on small figures, in a repetitive task, which gives positive feedback to the child,” he said.

"This child’s vision has dramatically improved and given previous attempts at patching were unsuccessful, the outcome is quite striking," he said.

Monster Hunter Tri Help with Hit-rate

15 June 2010 - 06:31 AM

Hi guys,

I'm new to Monster Hunter, and I decided to get Monster Hunter solely for the online play. However, I'm kinda annoyed with the no lock-on gameplay. I realised that I've spent half of the time slashing nothing. I took around 20 minutes to complete the 2nd quest (Hunting Jaggi), and I bet 15 minutes were wasted on slashing air.

As I'm too used to lock-ons in most rail-shooters/fps for Wii, without lock-ons for Monster Hunter is simply devastating for me. I wonder if there's any tips to increase your hit rate.

I've read guides but I simply don't understand it ... something about panning the camera and I believe the Junior in the game mentioned the same thing as well.

Can anyone care to explain about the panning camera stuff? Tried searching on YouTube but no luck findin' ...

Thanks a bunch!
