KickBeat Announced for Vita

23 May 2012 - 08:51 PM

KickBeat, what's shown to be a "rhythm brawler" by Zen Studios, has been announced for the Playstation Vita.

A trailer (available at the link) shows a rhythm-based brawling game where players take on multiple enemies and chain their moves with the rhythm of the songs. There also won't be any visual cues or on-screen prompts to pull off beat-based beatings, instead you'll be free to chain your own attacks.

Most notable about KickBeat is its licensed music. While no songs were released, several artists were listed. Multi-instrumentalist Celldweller (also known for doing the Dead Rising 2 boss battle songs), similar mutli-instrumentalist Blue Stahli, drum and bass band Pendulum, metal singer Marilyn Manson, and many more were listed to be lending songs to the title.

No release date or whether this will be a physical or digital title was announced.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal Coming to Vita?

22 May 2012 - 03:57 PM

I know the source says "confirmed" but I won't call it confirmed until Sony says so. It could just be a simple mistake or mislabeling although there's plenty of evidence and reason to say that it's coming to the Vita.

Anyway, an online CV for a sound designer at SCEA lists the title as coming to the Playstation 3 (which is already known, duh) and the Vita as well. A recent interview about the game hinted to it as well.

Another rumor from a while ago also hints appearances from Solid Snake, Nathan Drake, Cole McGrath, Kessler (a character from inFamous), and... Kevin Butler? I wouldn't put much faith in this rumor though since the entry lists Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario) as, who else, Mario, Hideo Kojima as "God", and Brendan O'Brien as Crash Bandicoot.

Still, interesting stuff for anyone looking towards a possible Vita version of PSASBR (aka Passbar as I call it).

Following the latest batch of multiplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3, more info on the next multiplayer DLC, named "Rebellion", was leaked.

Along with two new maps, a jungle-type map named Firebase Jade, and a Thesia map named Firebase Goddess, there's also new weapons, equipment, and classes. These include new Quarian Infiltrators and Engineers, a Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, as well as new Adepts and Vanguards.

The original text from Sony's Hong Kong website, where the info was leaked, is below:

"The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade's jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons as well as equipment, consumables, and six new classes: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues – hold the line!"

No pricing (if any) or date were released, however.
