Or does having alot of money make them a larger company and thus not indie.....

An indie company/developer means they're not supported by a publisher, not that they're poor or have a small team.

I saw the news on Reddit, and I saw the website myself and signed up. Apparently Mojang only revealed Scrolls at GDC today.
