Sony VPCYB15AG for US$689.82 good?

04 March 2011 - 04:30 PM

Im planning to buy a laptop and to me, this Sony Sony VPCYB15AG is really nice.

A good netbook here in the Philippines is around PhP 26,xxx but knowing Sony, this is forgivable.

Im not used with AMD so seeing a Redeon graphics on this little fella really wows me thinking it's a dedicated GPU.

Anyway, I want a netbook with decent graphics card so seeing Intel GPU is not on my list. Im familiar with ATI and RADEON so seeing those names makes me think it's a dedicated GPU.

I saw a Samsung netbook for Php 15,xxx but Im not too sure about it. I remember being a Nx10 or something along those lines. Im currently searching for its spec online.

Warning! Spoiler inside.

NOKIA's EXPERIMENTAL DAY with the Snow and Ice

QUOTE
So we’ve seen how Nokia can turn any screen into a touch screen. What about something that’s not even a screen to begin with – what about a block of ice? That’s exactly what’s been occurring in Tampere, Finland at Nokia’s Research Lab.

Check it out in the video from New Scientist (cheers dsmobile for the heads up!)

“This was a playful experiment, but one that we think showed interactive computing interfaces can now be built anywhere,” Jyri Huopaniemi, Nokia.

How does it work?

Like Microsoft surface, this uses a technique called rear-diffused illumination. Infra-red light (or pretty much) is beamed behind the ice screen and placing a hand in front of the ice reflects that light back towards a camera which in turn helps a computer to calculate the hand position and thus direct a projected image near the hand.

Im now excited on the IRON MAN touchscreen tech. It's becoming of a reality. Remember IRON MAN 2 where Tony used his coffee table to search for the detiails of the Latin Spy girl? WOW!!

AMD to Contribute Engineering Resources to Help Drive Linux-Based Open Source Operating System

DUBLIN, IRELAND--(Marketwire - November 15, 2010) - At the MeeGo Conference 2010, AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced it has joined The Linux Foundation's MeeGo open source Linux project, and will provide engineering expertise intended to help establish the technical foundations for next-generation mobile platforms and embedded devices.

"MeeGo represents an exciting, open-source mobile operating system we expect to be adopted by mobile and embedded device makers over time," said Ben Bar-Haim, corporate vice president, software development, AMD. "We are glad to provide engineering resources to joint industry efforts like MeeGo and expect that this operating system will help drive our embedded plans and create expanded market opportunities for our forthcoming Accelerated Processing Units."

"Built from the ground up for a whole new class of mobile computing devices, MeeGo gives companies like AMD and its partners unlimited opportunities to accelerate innovation for the next generation of computing," said Jim Zemlin, executive director at The Linux Foundation. "As an existing Linux Foundation member, AMD will be an important and valuable contributor to the MeeGo Project."

AMD, as many of you, is a great rival of Intel but awhile ago, they present themselves to contribute and partnered with MeeGo to continue develop alongside the MeeGo project with Intel and Nokia.

Oh goodie, it might be my time to purchase and AMD branded hardware for my future MeeGo device such as the Nokia N9-0x or a netbook

Is it me or the Pokemon BW intro are off-tracked?

27 September 2010 - 04:48 PM

I want to watch the intro for Pokemon Black and White but im getting off track near the end of the intros or the BGM is alittle bit fast. Is it a M3i bug or my ROM is patched?

M3i with the latest Sakura. Im going to try Acekard 2i and I will try the clean ROM later on but I want your opinions as early as possible.

UPDATE:

It's an M3i ZERO Sakura issue. I tried it on an Acekard 2i with AKAIO 1.7.1 and latest loaders. Im seeing FULL intro with no lags on videos. I sure hope it can be fixed
