----------------------
- Introducción
----------------------
Bliight is a generic filesystem loader for wiilinux, which should let you boot a filesystem installed on any wiilinux
compatible device. It also lets you boot from a filesystem image, qhich should simplifcate the use of wiilinux to
those users that don´t want to do partitions on their sdcard.
This kernel has support for wireless modules, to use these modules you must install udev and wireless tools on xwhiite. These
applications and the kernel modules for the wireless/network adapters are included on the bliight and xwhiite filesystem images
given with this tool. The only wireless driver tested is Ralink rt73 usb.
----------------------
- Necessary tools
----------------------
1) 1GB SDcard (2GB for bliight), or a similar usb hard disck, formatted on Fat32 (NTFS doesn´t works, as writting isn´t supported by the kernel)
2) USB Keyboard
3) A wii console with the Homebrew channel or twilight hack installed
Optional:
4) USB-HUB * read known problems
5) USB mouse * read known problems
6) USB wireless/ethernet adapter * read known problems
----------------------
- Instalación
----------------------
1) Copy the "apps" directory to the root of your SDCard
2) If you want to boot a preinstalled wiilinux filesystem (using whiite or whiite installer), copy the "pivot_root" and "chroot" files
inside the "extra" directory to your filesystem "/bin" directory, and create a directory called "/old-root" in the root of your filesystem.
3) If you want to boot any of the filesystem images (bliight.img or xwhiite.img), copy them to the root of your device (SDCard or USB hard disk)
----------------------
- Configuration
----------------------
1) Launch "boot-it" using the Homebrew Channel. The first time it will show you a menu:
- Boot installed system : Lets you access the boot menu
- Return to Wii menu : Lets you reboot
2) Use the keyboad arrows to move up/down the selected option, ad press "Enter". If you selected
"Boot installed system" oyou will see a new menu:
- USB : To boot a filesystem installed on a USB hard disk partition
- SDCard : To boot a filesystem installed on a SDCard partition
- Disc image : To boot a filesystem image file on a USB or SDCard
If you select USB or SDCard, you will see a menu to select the partition (1,2,3...). Introduce the partition number. and press enter.
If everithing is OK, it will start to boot that filesystem
If you select "Disc image", It will ask you the device where it is installed (USB o SDCard), and then you will have to introduce
the filename (bliight.img, xwhiite.img, etc...).
If everything is OK, a file called "wiilinux.cfg" will be created in the root of your SDCard. There will be saved the configuration. If
you want to reconfigure "boot it", delete that file.
----------------------
- Known problems
----------------------
Q) The USB Keyboard does not work.
A) If you have a USB mous plugged in, iterchange the usb port where they are plugged, or unplug the mouse
Q) It says that some files are missing (pivot_root, chroot, old-root)
A) If you are booting a previously installed wiilinux (xwhiite or bliight installed in the second partition of your sdcard) you will
have to copy the contents of the "extras" directory to the root of your wiilinux filesystem.
----------------------
- Thanks
----------------------
Thanks to all the wii-linux developpers:
- The gc-linux team and Isobel, who did this possible
- All the #wii-linux contributors: Muzer, Bertjan, T7g... the list is very long
- Special thanks to t7g and berjan for "bliight" and "xwhiite"
- Of course, thanks to the Team Twiizers, for their Homebrew channel and Twilight hack
Any problems, ask them on #wiilinux at efnet.

PRELOADER v.25 Released
11 January 2009 - 09:07 PM
Here it is guys will update 1st post as needed.
*** WARNING!! **** THIS IS SOME SERIOUS HOMEBREW HACKING! Read this thread carefully and ask questions that have not been answered only. This thread was posted and intended for the more experienced Homebrewers of the Wii Hacking Community
Crediar has officially released the region free version of Preloader v.25-Crediar
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader
First of all I want to thank 'zouzz zzzuoz', AlexLH, GizmoTheGreen and SquidMan.
WARNING: System 3.2 Only! Trying to install this on a different firmware will likely cause a brick.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SINCE THIS TOOL CHANGES THE WAY THE WII WORKS IT WAS NEVER INTENDED TO, THERE IS A
RISK OF BRICKING YOUR CONSOLE.
I'VE DONE EVERYTHING I CAN TO ASSURE THAT NOTHING WILL BRICK.
BUT THIS IS STILL NO GUARANTEE!!
THE AUTHOR CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE IT MIGHT CAUSE!
YOU ACCEPT THAT YOU INSTALL THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK!
Notes:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preloader 'replaces' the systemmenu (it's not really replaced, its main.dol is just
renamed) with a simple loader which allows you to automatically load the HBC,
a .dol you can install from SD or the systemmenu.
It also allows you to use simple patches on the systemmenu.
To start the installtion enter I raid u. (On WiiMote press - 1,Right,A,1,Down,Up) Voila!
Poster's Install notes:
Again, you need to be on system menu 3.2 to use Preloader.
1) Copy preloader.dol to SD card - apps\Preloader\boot.dol
2) Copy hacks.ini to root of SD card
3) Run preloader through homebrew
4) Insert code to redeem.
5) Preloader will start disabled so you can configure the way you want.
6) After enabling autoboot to get back to Preloader menu after initial installation, simply hold the reset button in while powering on until preloader menu appears.
To edit the hacks.ini file you can just use notepad, ultraedit, etc.
Hacks:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simply place the supplied hacks.ini in the root of the SD and enter the settings
and then the hack settings to select the once you want to use.
Once save settings is selected the hacks.ini is copied to the NAND and it's no longer
necessary to keep the file on the SD card.
The format is very simple and should not require any explanation.

-Use with system menu 3.2
-This supposedly updates like homebrew channel does if you are connected
-A fix is in the works for the autoboot .dol... apparently it has been fixed but not released Crediar wants to check with infectus.
-I am not the coder/author of this app... just someone to help if I can, and learn as the rest do.
-Starfall seems to be built-in to preloader so just put the proper hacks in the hacks.ini that starfall was doing for you.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/nncgiq5nqzc/...rv0.25-cred.rar
To remove the hacks.ini file from the NAND use this app that way you can clear it if you decide to change the hacks.ini file back to desired.

Again here is all the tools you will need when playing with preloader...

288 = 3.2j
289 = 3.2u - System Menus
290 = 3.2e

Compliments of Fishears this is the "complete" starfall hacks for 3.2E and 3.2U.
Personally, I have not checked these but I am sure these work just fine.
And please do not tell us you can not get one of the menu-loader-patches working as autoload .dol... we know this and have been working very hard to try
and come up for a solution. So read this whole thread before asking repeated questions.

Sports Island 2 (Compatibility)
26 December 2008 - 01:40 AM
This is a NEW imcompatible... I know it's not a long awaited game... but...a HEADS UP!
Just got this game and tried it and didn't work... Was just released last night so I know it's a new game to be out for the Wii...
Because where I get them they are either released before or the day they hit the stores.
Results...it hangs on the Safety Screen....
The game is NTSC and my console is NTSC...
Just thought I would throw this out there and I have all the other games working that say they work....
So it's not like I am n00b to running backups with Gamma and others.

Linux-Kernel Channel

Dowload Link:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zd23qejmgnu

Test by self.
Just rename the folder your Linux kernel elf is in to "Linux-Kernel"
Then everytime there is an updated version of the linux kernel it will load it from this folder.
If you are like me and love to experiment with these Linux distros...especially xwhiite w/ the C64 emulator.. This will work perfect!'
Extra special thanks to Space Jump for helping me put this together. A few of us wanted this and now we have it!

Experienced Soft Modder Report
18 December 2008 - 08:09 PM
**Ok... So this is mainly pointed at people that SoftModding Wii's with Homebrew and Gamma for friendship/profit/service/multiple consoles.
I am finally coming to a conclusion about why people are having so many issues with compatibility issues and they are not getting the majority result.
(My Specs are NTSC USA Wii Consoles)
This is from my experience from roughly Soft Modding Homebrew and installing Gamma with cios rev7.
A little personal history...
I found out about the famous first leak of the backup launcher through one of my private torrent sites. I thought to myself, this is interesting. Now I may not have to buy my 6 year old stepson Wii games anymore. So... I read the entire Waninoko Leaked fiasco and raised an eye brow... Went and purchased the TPLOZ game that was exploited by Team Twiizers. I did the hack and tried Wan's beta. Slow loading times for my first game Star Wars Forced Unleashed and Lego Batman...but they worked! So I continued to get involved and learn everything I could about Wii Homebrewing and the backup launcher project...which was abandoned by Waninoko for personal reasons and was picked up by WiiGator which formed quite an interesting result. And here we are now.
Between the .3 and Gamma release until now I have been softmodding Wii's for extra cash. I know some people's opinions on this and I really don't care what they
think. Moving on... to what I have experienced from doing numerous softmods on Wii consoles is this...
I have a collection of roughly 200 .iso's ranging from mostly NTSC 1:1, PAL 1:1, and various scrubbed and patched/decrypted copies. Out of the 200 only about 5 do not load my games on my 2 softmodded Wii consoles.
Now on others I have softmodded for service/friendship/profit/services I have ran into situations where not all of my copies would work as they did on my 2 personal Wii consoles. So if you are having issues with games not working and you know that you are using good media/burn methods. Then chances are that your Wii is just not going to play that backup game that the majority of the Wii consoles out there can play. Some of these games still may only need a simple reburn.. Yes, I have tried this and it has worked on rare occasion. It was a different brand of disc and burn at 2.4x speed with Imgburn which is what I have used for every single disc I have burned for the Wii console. I also noticed that the .3 version of WiiGators loader seemed more reliable to running the same discs, don't ask me why. This may have just been a coincidence.
**My own conclusion/theory of this is that not all Wii consoles are manufactured with the same parts. (Duh!) Resulting in scanning/reading discs a little differently than each other. (They have their own personalities, so to speak.) Some can scan/read discs better than others... Some just won't take anything but good quality media because they are more sensitive to the discs. Which will result in an original or reburning with a very top quality disc.
Reason for writing this: I have seen numbers after numbers of threads with the same kind of messages about same games that work for a majority of us soft modders and not for a few or just one person.
So I hope this helps shed some light on the subject. Because in my world, experience is always the best knowledge to have under your belt.
Good luck and hope your Wii can read brail like my 2 personal Wii's can.
**I also wanted to add that most of my disc are DVD-R and some are DVD+Rs. It's up to you which is better... I personally haven't seen much of a difference.
