Wii Won't Read Discs

15 June 2011 - 09:36 PM

I've been having problems with my Wii regarding disc-reading. It seems to have completely stopped reading most of my game discs. My gamecube discs work fine, but they give me disc-read errors. As for Wii games, only a small amount of them work, and some of them, even though they're recognized by the Wii, refuse to load.

I'm not sure it's the drive itself, because when I insert my WiiKey update disc, it reads it instantly.

I'm on 4.2U and I have bootmii installed. I have no clue which revision of cIOS I have installed.

Forcing PAL on a GameCube Game

15 April 2011 - 04:49 PM

I recently got Doshin the Giant for GameCube, and it works okay, except the bottom of the screen is cut off.
This is a problem with the PAL signal being converted to NTSC, because when I used to play it with the backup loader, it would always force PAL and display the image correctly.

I have priiloader and, although I have the "Region Free GC Games" hack activated, it fails to recognize the signal format.

Is there any way to force a PAL disc to go into PAL mode from the disc channel?

Thanks.

EDIT: I'm using component cables, if it helps.

WiiScrubber - Cannot parse text correctly

21 October 2010 - 12:45 AM

I tried extracting the .brstm files in Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Everything was working fine, until I got to "Demo_continent_connected_BGM.brstm" and 2 other files that were named the same, except the BGM wasn't there.

When I tried to extract it, it didn't do anything, and it showed "Cannot parse text correctly" in the little log box below the file window.
Am I doing something wrong?

I tried playing around with the settings, but I had no luck.
How can I extract these files?
Is there any other way?

Hope someone can help.
Thanks!

Would It Be A Problem To...

29 April 2010 - 10:21 PM

...transfer my WarioWare DIY sav to a retail copy?
I want to buy it mostly because it's a great game and it deserves a buy, but I've made a lot of microgames and have registered a bunch of friends, so I don't want to lose that.

Is it possible to transfer the .sav to the retail copy?
I know it can be done, what I'm asking is that if there would be any problems, due to the fact the .sav is 32 MBs and the cart uses some special sort of saving method.

If possible, could anyone try it?
Thanks!

Error in Wii Shop Channel

01 April 2010 - 04:31 PM

Not sure when this started, but when I tried downloading Grill-Off today, this error popped up.
I looked through Nintendo's files and they say it's their problem, but on an unmodded wii it works fine.

Any idea as to what could be causing this? I'm on 4.1, if that matters.
