Debating between two computers

So, my 5 year old Thinkpad just died this week. Considering it was only 200$ when I got it and already has some things wrong with it, its not really worth fixing. So I'm debating between two computers:

HP Pavilion dv6-6c35dx - AMD Quad-Core A8-3520M, 6 gig ram, 15.6" ($549) - Full specs below

I don't play games on the computer, so thats not a consderation. I preatty much do school stuff, web, and videos. Which originally made me lean towards the AMD, but I'm a little worried about the performance since the i5 is obviously faster and presumably better, except for video - at least that seems to be consensus online, I personally don't have much experiance with AMD stuff. So I'm not sure if the extra 2 gigs of ram and presumably better processor is going to make much of a percievable difference and be worth the 80$. I'm also not planning to buy another computer for the long haul.

RUMOR: Wii U to make waffles

(IGN) A highly placed, confidential, super secretive source risked his job and his life today to tell us that the Wii U will be revolutionary in more ways then one. It will in fact be the first ever entertainment device in the history of humanity to make waffles while playing video games. A slot on the side will pop the waffles out nice and toasty for players to grab while playing. Unfortunately, there will not be any waffles on the the new tablet controller, as Nintendo found that it interfered with proper control -so gamers will still have to get off the couch to get the waffles. While waffles are awesome, this might become a serious downside in the plan, as people may not want to get up repeatedly in the middle of playing to get the waffles. However, our source says that Nintendo may release a 'Waffle Pad Pro' attachment later for the the controller after launch if this becomes a serious limitation. While the WPP may never see the light of day, our source told us at launch there will be different syrup expansion packs available that will fit in quite nicely with the waffles.

View new content seems broken

I don't know if it's just me, but the "View New Content" button appears to not be working. Anytime I've clicked on it in the past 2 days I get 592 pages of content going back to august 2011, no matter what device I check on (laptop, touchpad, phone). Anyone else?

Japanese retailers discount 3G PSVITAs

Retailers in Japan are discounting by 20% right now, at least on the 3g model.
