I guess nobody knows a way to boot into uneek directly with this exploit? I really need to find an elf for that...

I've been wanting to see that for a long time. That would make things complete.

I've talked with pune about it, basically he said that it's not something he's interested in working on. But just to ask him if it was possible, he said yes.

This is simple. 4 lines of code should do the trick:

CODE
int main() {
IOS_ReloadIOS(254);
return(0);
}

IOS254 is the bootmii IOS. Replacing the bootmii binary on the sd card with the uneek binaries results in uneek being launched directly.

You can download that already built here: https://github.com/Vithon/bootios/downloads
It's been there for over 2 years (first commit: May 16, 2009). xD

I'm not gonna try and bullshit anyone by saying I made some grand project though. It's even under the WTFPL...

dude, that's harsh!

ModMii is "just" a batch script... but its the largest and most versatile batch script ever written... and that is a fact. That may not be something most ppl would be proud of because any1 in their right mind would not spend 1500+ hours on a 20,000+ line batch script when they could probably spend less time writing a similar app in a more sophisticated programming language... but I'm not most ppl. I am proud to have written what is probably the most widely used batch script ever made, and why shouldn't I be? I've indirectly helped thousands upon thousands of ppl mod their wii's with my program, and never bricked a single person. Anyways, I don't want to go on too much about modmii otherwise I risk proving your point.

Anyways, the point is... I started writing ModMii initially so I didn't need to repeat myself a million times... when some1 has an upside-down homebrew channel, instead of explaining how to fix it, now i can tell them to run ModMii's hackmii solutions feature. ModMii does it all, it may not be up for app of the year (although I think it should be, but that's a different story all together) but take it for what it is... which is an interactive soft modding guide. ModMii kicks the shit out of any other guide on the internet, and it is the ONLY legal offline guide ever made (unless u count the complete softmod guide, which I am also a contributor to).

And FYI, I've done more for community than just ModMii... heck I am playing a small part in the new ultimate cIOS this thread is all about! Anyways, I don't want to start shit either, and there is no "beef" between us, we're cool, but I had to say my 2 cents.

I didn't mean the genitalia stroking thing like that. What I meant is that you (and this is going to come out wrong, too) act like ModMii is the alpha and the omega.

I mean, I'm sure it's a very useful tool. I just can't personally attest to that since, well, the whole Linux thing I mentioned earlier.

I don't know why we're dwelling on this... but I may as well add my 2 cents...
I think he "lol'd" at the following...

@ XFlak:
Ever considering porting it to wii homebrew?
I'm assuming IceIceBird meant porting ModMii to wii homebrew.... which is impossible to do. It's possible to build a similar app that runs on the Wii, but it would have to be re-written from the ground up, not ported. And even then... it is impossible to have ANY wii app that can do everything ModMii can. In order to run a Wii app, the user would first need to launch an exploit and most likely install the HBC before running any other homebrew app on the wii. So no wii app can prepare an sd card with an exploit on a virgin Wii. And that is just ONE example of why any wii app like pimpmywii can never be a complete softmodding solution.

Actually, I lol'd at this:

...I think you should know that ModMii's advanced downloads...

Hence why I asked the question about ModMii being a batch script.

I don't mean to start anything, but it seems like at least every other post by you is genitalia stroking about ModMii which, as I'm assuming it's just a batch script packaged with a few GNU executables, seems a bit silly to me.

Anyways, I am in full support of a Wii-based installer for d2x, seeing as I am a Linux user and Wine isn't the best at "emulating" (Before anyone freaks out, I am fully aware that Wine is a compatibility layer and not an emulator) batch scripts.

@cambric,
while there is nothing wrong with suggesting we build an installer for our cIOS, I think you should know that ModMii's advanced downloads allows you to easily change the slot and version number of any cIOS/IOS supported by ModMii.

I lol'd.

And isn't ModMii just a batch script converted to exe?
