I've lately been playing Battlefield 3 again, and Assassin's Creed Revelations, too, as I finally got the crack to work properly. Yes, I'm a filthy pirate, hang me.
Point is, after a while of playing (it differs every time) my computer shuts off, as if the electricity was cut off. This is, however, not the case because the light that's connected to the same socket (it's one of these) still works.
When it happens, the music/sound stops; my monitor shows me it's not getting input from HDMi. Also I hear the fans powering down.
What bugs me about this is that this did not happen at all with MW2 back when AlterIW still worked, and Minecraft doesn't trigger it either. Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood used to run fine also.
I'll try and run some benchmarks and then report back if it happens.

Modders rejoice! We’re pleased to announce that the Skyrim Creation Kit is now available!
With the Creation Kit’s release, fans can now upload, download, and install custom content through the Skyrim Workshop on Steam. Get a crash course by reading level designer Joel Burgess’ blog post, and be sure to read up on our list of best practices for modding. Need more help? Don’t forget to to check out the official Wiki at www.CreationKit.com. In the coming days and weeks, we’ll be sharing tutorial videos for beginners and experts alike. Check out the first tutorial above, and visit the Bethesda Game Studios YouTube Channel for more.
In addition to releasing the Creation Kit and Skyrim Workshop, today we’re allowing players to experience Skyrim as you’ve never seen it before with the Skyrim High-Resolution Texture Pack. Before downloading it from Steam, make sure your system requirements exceed Skyrim’s recommended specs before attempting to install, including Windows Vista/7, a minimum of 4GB of system RAM, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with at least 1 GB of RAM and the latest drivers

Who's excited for the mods that will be made with this? Are you going to play around with it yourself? I sure am going to!
Also, the texture pack: are you going to use it?
Edit: added video from Source. And why did there get so much space between the image and the quote...?
Stuck pixel
04 January 2012 - 06:57 PM
Might recall me about my half dead monitor. Since then, I've ordered a new one which arrived yesterday. 24" @ Full HD resolution; I'll never be able to go back to a lower one...
Anyway, I noticed it's got a stuck pixel; it's yellow. I've been running some so-called "dead pixel fixer" (it flashes different colors) for 10 minutes now , no luck as of yet; I'll keep it running for the night.
The shop I ordered it from said I should've bought a pixel warranty, seems bullshit to me, however, I've still a few days to return the monitor without any reason mentioned due to some awesome Dutch law about webshops 'n schtuff. However, seeing as I'd miss the monitor for a long while I'd like to keep this as a last resort.
Any other ideas I could try?

Monitor colors suddenly changed
02 January 2012 - 02:18 PM
Booted up my PC today. Suddenly, after 5 minutes or so, the colors changed; everything's fuck ugly at the moment.
Settings in AMD VISION Engine Control Center were and are set to default; didn't change a thing.
Any ideas on this? I think it's within Windows. Replugging the video cable (GPU -> DVi to VGA converter -> Monitor) didn't help; resetting the monitor with the "Auto" button didn't do anything, resetting to factory settings also did nothing.
Also, cannot post stuff on GBAtemp with Chrome. Battlelog doesn't work with Chrome. I'm going for Firefox.

Battlefield 3 Input Lag
03 November 2011 - 06:54 PM
It. Is. Fucken. Horrible.
Playing the game at 1680*1050 at medium settings without AA/SSAO just to be sure it's not my PC.
Playing multiplayer. Let's say I see an enemy running towards me. I try to take aim at/on him. Camera movement freezes on me; it's not an entire game freeze because I can still see the guy running towards me. I'm dead.
Singleplayer: second operation thingie, on the roof before taking out sniper. I try to to the edge of cover. Guess what? Input fuck up, a single tap brought me a foot further. I'm dead. RAAAAAGE.
Turning raw input off only makes things worse.
Such an awesome game and I'm not even able to play properly.
Beta was not without problems but I'd gladly play that if it means not having to put up with the input hell.
