Why is it no company outside of Acekard can produce a half looking decent menu. I was hoping that this card would be different.. It's definitely taken strides, but still pales in comparison.

In Topic: Sadness still coming to the Wii

16 April 2008 - 10:08 AM

Sadness is vaporware.. NIBRIS has been in development of a couple so called titles forever and haven't delivered a single one yet.. Let alone some clear and precise details on gameplay, screenshots, etc. One image acting as a teaser shouldn't be considered solid or prominent evidence that their games actually exist.. Prior to the Wii being released, they had so much unwarranted hype. To this day, I still don't know why.

On the other hand, if they do deliver their game, I'll be on the lookout. Best of luck to them, but their track record is pretty flimsy so far.

Craiglist shouldn't remove it. I suppose it depends how blatant clear your ad is on what it does.. Make it a bit more ambiguous perhaps? Other venues: Kijiji? Don't even bother with eBay.. You won't get away with it, as I'm sure certain products are probably automatically flagged.. Especially if you're based in North America, there is almost no chance of getting through it.

In Topic: Nintendo to wave the ban hammer?

Uh, they've already bought the subscription. They lose it for violating MS's ToS, but they've still paid for 1 month/year/whatever.

but they've lost the future income from that pirate, most pirates would have renewed their Live membership after it ran out and let's not forget the pirates who buy the live arcade games. by banning them you've denied yourself that income stream (unless you expect most of them to buy another xbox for online play)

Certainly they would make the profits, but that doesn't mean anything to the publishers & developers whom have spent time and resources on a game. Microsoft, in any case, would definitely rather appease a large dedicated group of developers than the mere $8 a month in revenue they would be getting from each pirate..

As for my take on Nintendo.. I haven't witnessed any banning yet, but I can attest that there are certainly issues with stability on their network (still). It's only been 2 large games and the networks get crumbled. You're definitely getting what you pay for.. And that's.. Nothing! Not to say I'm not gracious of them to have done free wi-fi in the first place (which I am). I just would've liked it with a more traditional interface and feature set ala PSN or XBL.

In Topic: Is it worth upgrading my card?

23 March 2008 - 08:55 PM

If you have a Slot-2 system right now, I highly recommend you to switch over to a Slot-1 card. Many Slot-1 cards have automatic trimming, drag and drop play, cheat support, etc. Cards such as the Supercard DS One even takes it a step further and allows for in-game walkthrough guide viewing, real-time saving, multi-save support, etc.

For the mild investment of $30-40, you can't go wrong with that! Sell your old Slot-2 M3 and you'll be paying barely anything for a significant upgrade.

There are also tons of save games converter that can convert your old save files to be compatible with your new cart, so the upgrade path is all set for you.
