Does nobody seed this:

Sen sony entertainment network

Nes nintendo entertainment system

0.o still I hope that Sony does not want us to pay a monthly fee for online play out of sudden.

That was in the first post until Raulpica removed it.

Oh sorry if it is too spam like, right I reported my own post for my own sake. Yes I am pretty shocked about this, I don't like to get warned. :)

No need to do it, hopefully people won't bicker about it anymore :P

HERE COMES PINKIE TO RUIN THE DAY!

jk

OnTopic, I've been reading a bit about this and am now getting mixed reports...some people are saying the SEN is a whole separate service from PSN, others saying SEN is replacing PSN. Can somebody like...clear this up so I can make fun of the wrong people?

Thank god your here pinkie! :D Yeah why not.

@Raulpica Thanks mate :) That calmed me a lot.(Yeah I can worry a lot.)

I think it will combine PSN en SEN in one. Sony will just not use the name PSN anymore. Like PSN+new faster network for all Sony stuff=SEN! Do you get my logic?

So Sony is changing the name just so they can fool everyone into thinking they actually give a shit?

They will never name change PSN

It's just like signing up for YouTube/Gmail/anything Google, you don't sign up for an account specifically for that, you sign up for a Google Account to use across of all of Googles services...

I meant Sony isn't big on about caring about their customers. If they where more engaging like Valve I'm sure Sony wouldn't be as many problems with PSN/SEN. I have to admit for something free its superior to what is out right for consoles. Paying for Live is annoying and Nintendo hasn't figured out how to probably have an online service.

Got this email right after midnight:

On February 7, 2012, Sony Network Entertainment International LLC ("SNEI") will update its Terms of Service and User Agreement and its Privacy Policy. As a part of this update, your “PlayStation®Network account” will be renamed a “Sony Entertainment Network account”

The first time you sign in to your Sony Entertainment Network account on or after February 7, 2012, you will be asked to agree to the new Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy with SNEI if you wish to continue using your Sony Entertainment Network account. Please review all changes to the Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy carefully before indicating your agreement.

In particular, these are some of the additions and changes we have to these agreements:
  • New terms for parents of minor, subaccount holders regarding the limitations of chat parental controls. Your reacceptance of the Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy affirms your consent to the sharing of your child’s data that may occur if your child utilizes certain communication functionalities on PlayStation devices such as PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems.
  • New terms that explain the location-based services offered through the PlayStation Vita system. For parents of minor, subaccount holders your reacceptance of the Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy affirms your consent to your subaccount holder’s user of these services on the PlayStation Vita system.
  • A description of our “What’s New” section, which provides topical information about our services and advertisements.
  • Information about pre-ordering content.
  • The name of your "PlayStation Network account" is changing to a "Sony Entertainment Network account."
You may click here to review the changes to the Terms of Service and User Agreement and you may click hereto review the changes to the Privacy Policy.

The rebranding of PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts is a change in name only. Your username or password will not change, nor are we asking you to change them. On Sony Computer Entertainment’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems, this rebranding will occur in connection with software updates for these devices. (Note, this change will not be applied to the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system at this time.)

This transition is based on Sony’s goal to enhance its unique digital entertainment offering. As a series of these activities Sony started last September, PlayStation Network will be aligned with “Sony Entertainment Network.” This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.

The Sony Entertainment Network account also enables use of Sony’s compelling non-game services such as Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited and PlayMemories Online (currently called Personal Space) across a variety of network-connected devices. If you do not agree with the new Terms of Service and User Agreement or Privacy Policy, you may decline to accept them, and you will no longer be able to access your account.

If you wish to close your account or request a refund of your wallet balance, or have any questions, please contact Customer Service by clicking here. For more information, please click here.

Thank you very much for being a customer!

Let's completely forget the whole Welcome Back program to compensate customers for their mistakes. Companies aren't in the business to make friends with consumers, they're there to make money. Even Valve. Wonder why they sell games so cheap? Because it makes money. When a sale goes on, if it's good, that game will often rocket to the top of the sales charts for that weak. That's rather remarkable if the game is no longer selling a lot. While I'll admit they're definitely a lot more open to community input, they're still in the business to make money. Oh, and they continually troll us on Half Life 3, SURELY THAT'S CARING FOR CUSTOMERS.

I doubt any corporation is in it to "care for customers", every one of them just wants to nickel and dime us with elaborate ploys to gain brand loyalty and make you blindly buy their product. I hate sounding like some "BOOO CORPORATIONS" slacktavist but it's rather stupid to accuse one company of not "caring for customers" when pretty much every company is guilty of it.

Well, I think We should wait with bitching, untill we see the actual network service. I mean, many are hating, but haven't seen a single thing of it, and tbh, I'm not sure what to think about the changes they're making. On one side, I'm kinda dissappointed, because PSN was PSN. The name of it was short and catchy. On the other hand, it could be a good thing, since all things with Sony...entertainment in the name may be added to a single network in the future. This is just my imagination running wild, but still. We gotta wait till we say anything. Im yet behind, since there is no Internet on my ps3 atm. Will update asap i guess.

You have a point about all companies being guilty of having poor customer service and Sony in particular has been known to drop the ball on Customer Service a lot. At least in my experience with them. I realize making money is the number one priority for companies and that doesn't mean it's okay to throw customer service out the window.

I don't think I could get used to saying "SEN Account". It sounds lame, and doesn't have the same ring to it that "PSN" does.

If they're gonna change the same to Sony Entertainment Network, they should keep Playstation Network as a division to keep the PSN name alive.

Or maybe they are changing it because "PSN went down", and "PSN got hacked". Nobody hacked SEN as of yet :P A way to clear their reputation from the people who don't know of their recent issues :P
