Wiimote disconnecting in homebrew apps(Go to first unread post) |

Bought myself a new wiimote today after my brother's puppy chewed out my old one and I just now tested it and noticed it automatically turns off in homebrew apps. After searching a while I've found a few mentions, though nothing useful. Does anybody know of any possible way to remedy this?
Help would be greatly appreciated. |

I've heard the wiiimotes with wii motion + altogether will not work with usb loading.

There is currently no solution to this. The newest model of motion+ remotes don't work with homebrew.

Hmm, I was afraid of that. Has there been any word about some sort of fix in progress? Are the hackers who deal with these issues aware and planning a fix?

My Black wiimote with built in motion plus works fine, so it must be only the newest M+controllers. I'd say once it becomes a wide spread problem then it will be addressed by someone, though it is becomming a more common problem, i seen afew threads about this now on gba

I wouldn't count on it for all homebrew, maybe a couple. I highly doubt that we will ever see an update to the hackmii installer that gets around this issue.

Hmm, just out of curiousity, would it be feasible to switch the circuit boards between my new and old wii motes? The old one should still be intact, it's just the casing that is messed up.

Too much hassle, not really worth it, better if you just buy an old GC controller, or just any wiimote without WiiMotion+, and there is a list somewhere in the questions area that tells you wich models are compatible with HB and wich aren't, unfortunately there is no way to tel wich one you are getting without opening the battery cover...!!

So does that mean it would most likely be possible though? Because if it is, then it's just easier for me to open the wiimote and do a switch. If it's a possible solution then it'd be the quickest one for me. I don't really have much to lose, worst case I just have to put the boards back in their respective wiimotes and then start looking for older controllers.

Someone might mistake your post for meaning only the separated motion+ controllers work thinking all combined models don't work, my post was only making it more obvious, anyways my post was aimed more at the post before yours than yours. He said the "motion+ remotes", the m+ accessory isnt a remote. I dont see how you could misunderstand that. @Godamit: If the old remote is also a motion+, then the boards will fit just fine (99% sure). If its just a regular its possible you will have to adjust the bottom of the new remote shell. But Im sure you can replace the boards with minor modifications. But is the old one really that broken you cant use it just to browse homebrew apps? Once in a game the new one will work just fine. |

Yeah, I've been using the old one to browse apps and so on, as the puppy mostly damaged the back and lower parts of the front I can still make selections (What I still don't understand is that he managed to take off the jacket with 2 very minor tears (like 1 or 2mm in length), at which point I assume he just continued with the wiimote). I'll have to switch wii motes for as long as my new one is incompatible. Only a minor inconvenience.

I did post a workaround for loading games from USB, but it's not a solution to the real problem:

Yeah, I caught your topic about that back when I was searching for fixes. It's a temporary solution I'm considering. Though I don't play a fixed small number of games, so I'd be adding lots of channels.
Though this has been fixed for Dolphin. Any chance a similar fix can be applied to the Wii? I'd be happy knowing that someone is currently working on a fix for the actual Wii. Knowing that much would satisfy me for now. |
