The burner costs less then glitching your console ;/

Anyway you can play truncated or overburned XGD3 games on LT+ 3.0 but it is NOT advised.
An iHAS burner still functions as a regular burner so you can also burn regular DVD's and games.

got a major question

and please excuse my ignorance

I have an old Elite, Lite-On(forgot which one), its a 2008 falcon though

anyway its flashed to ixtreme 1.6 - and ive been using the good old boot disc to play recent games - yet my dash got updated so im unable to play those games such as call of duty blackops, NFS, and what not i.e. the games that have these said ap2.5

obviously i havn't been able to play XGD3 backups and what not

question is, what should i flash to ? XGD3 capable 2.0 or LT 3.0

Any pre-requsites for LT firmware? Or just the usual process of updating?

I also dnt play on Live since the xbox was banned eons ago back in the 2009 bannings

Update the console to LT+ 3.0.
It's the only option to play the most recent games.

Then get a iHAS burner and burn the XGD3 games with that.
You can go for the overburn/truncate method tho, it hardly matters.
If you want to install the games to the HDD you WILL need to burn them with an iHAS.

Great

as for the iHAS i already got that sorted - the local pirate shop already got his burning sorted, he burns games for like 2 $ a piece (pretty good if you ask me) - you just provide them with the ISO if he doesn't have it

thanks ! ^_^

Your option ofcourse lol.

Be sure to patch them with ABGX, to repair AnyDVD corruption etc.
Stealth doesn't matter anymore but the discs will be as close as "original" as they can be.

And let the guy burn them on 4x with OPC enabled on Verbatim media or on 2.4x without OPC.

You're welcome;]

You say its not advised, not advised in general (LT+ 2.0 and 3.0) or 3.0 specifically?
So lets say I intend to play most XGD3 titles (=currently more or less all...) but I absolutely do not want to buy another burner right now, my only option is LT+ 2.0 correct? (for installing games to HDD and so on)

(btw. I know the burner doesnt cost much compared to glitching I just dont want to invest right now, personal choice)

It is not advised in general.
Not on LT+ 2.0 and not on LT+ 3.0

They still work on both but HDD install is disabled on those discs with LT+ 3.0 and dash 14699 iirc.

Just get an iHAS burner.
Their only like €20 + it gives you a good reason to purchase a good burner for other burning goals like normal games/DVD films/music CD's etc etc.

Imho, if you don't invest in an iHAS burner and quality DVD's then you deserve all the problems you'll get later on.

If you really don't care then I'd say go ahead and knock yourself out.
Since you where talking about glitching your console anyways.

Ok thanks for clarifying it for me regarding the HDD-install part especially!

I'm not sure on the HDD installation on 13604 and 13599.
But on 14699 it's disabled.
It will spew out an error.

Have you set the drive to vendor mode? (tray half open)

7x series Liteon's should be recognized by ease.

What i meant was my computer wasnt recognizing the drive. It loads it as a usb controller hub, my short term solution is to pay $70 for express shipping for a x360 USB, but i dont currently have that much money to spare :P If there is a cheaper/no-cost solution that would be perfect, but im not holding my breath, as almost everything ive looked up requires either the x360 or a pci slot card, which i cant use due to my lack of a desktop in the house

Ahh I see.

Nope you'll have to get a x360 USB or you could try and remove your laptop's DVD/HDD and use that Sata port for flashing.

Just boot winxp or win 7 from a USB drive ;]

I unfortunately don't have any spare laying around.
If you have some money left you could send it to Devin to have it flashed for you.
