So a friend told me that there was no point to playing Dissidia 1 cause Duodecim had everything the first one had and more, was there any truth to what he said or should I play Dissidia 1 first?
I tried searching a bit for this answer on the forums but to no avail.

Dissidia 1 or 2?, Should I start with the first one or skip right to the second outing? (Go to first unread post) |

It dosent really matter. both are really good. Only difference between the two is the characters and the plot at most(2 has character assists) shut plot wise play 2 first then 1

012 has the prequel and the original story with tons more extras, balances and superior game play.
Get 012. You're wasting money (.. or bandwidth and time) if you download the first one, since 012 has everything and more. Edited by prowler_, 30 December 2011 - 01:24 AM. |

FF Dissidia 012 [Duodecium], is basically FF Dissidia 1 with a added prologue and extra characters. In my opinion it is a great game i have about 200 hours of play time on it. As a warning, you may wanna do some side challenges or game modes to level up your character, because the final boss will really cause a person to rage

It dosent really matter. both are really good. Only difference between the two is the characters and the plot at most(2 has character assists) shut plot wise play 2 first then 1 I know this is old... but yeah, it does matter... They're not identicle games. They might play similar but 012 is essentially 2 games in one. It literally has TWICE as much to do than in the 1st one. I mean, lets say that Juicy Fruit's success prompted a Juicy Fruit 2, and the catch of Juicy Fruit 2 is you get the same experience of the original Juicy Fruit after finishing Juicy Fruit 2. It should be common sense that you go for Juicy Fruit 2 so that you get two gums in one. Unless you're a Fighting Gum fan who just likes chewing/fighting and not the tasting part of it, you really have no say. The point is, that the original 2008 Dissidia became obsolete and pointless to have when Square decided to include all of the story and scenario from the 1st. Lets not forget that Dissidia 012 also has a bunch of new costumes and music packs as DLC.Nothing like using Yuna in her Gunner outfit or Cloud, Sephiroth, and Squall in their Kingdom Hearts outfits

012 makes a purchase of the first a waste of time and money.
