Nope. Settings>Saving & Loading and no browse option whatsoever. :( What is the path on yours to find the browse feature?

So both the Snes9xGX and FCEUGX neeeeeed to have a browse feature added I think. That would be superb.

Mine doesn't :( On mine, you have to know in advance the new path as it's totally not an intuitive interface. Reminds me a lot of DOS actully.

Don't you think you're exaggerating a little with DOS comparison? :D
In fact, you can organize your folders as you want in cover mode by creating folders names finishing with .roms extensions and the corresponding png images.

For example, you have a folder called Hacks.roms with all Super mario hacks roms you put in Super Nintendo.roms and a png called Hacks.png in your covers folders.
You can organize alphabetically too with A.roms etc...
It's quickly explained in the Readme(I know almost everyone doesn't care reading this shit).
It can take 10 minutes to do all of this, but maybe it's not total waste of time...

Vid of Mastershoes to illustrate :

Maybe there's something I don't get with the need to change the paths frequently. There're 2 cases I see : you're switching constantly between regular/cover mods versions or else you want switch covers from 2d to 3d, cartridge and so on ?

I don't see the point either.
Once you have everything working the way you like it, why would you want to keep changing your paths?
Maybe you can give the folders simple names like a, b and c...

Recently I started using Wiiflow. I then realized how awesome it was to emulate my nand and chose to try to load everything that's on my sd card over to my usb drive. I then thought it would be nice to have a single folder that would contain a bunch of subdirectories. Each subdirectlry would be a central point where appropriate programs would draw then data from (i.e.- covers). I want to do this just because I am a bit of a geek and like shiny things. (for the record, I realize this is not currently a possibility to have most Wii programs change their default given paths)

All I was saying with my DOS comparison is that in order to point either snes9xGX & FCEUGX to a different folder than the stock directories, one must know exactly the path to where whatever file one is trying to load. Having a browse feature added to either of these most awesome emlators would simply be like icing on a cake. Not really a necessoty but sure would be super cool. Like in Windows 3.0 one had a gui as opposed to DOS where things were text based. The current state of these two great programs is a bit of Windows 3 + DOS mixed together I think. They're wonderful and I love them.

Cover Set Update!

Update 03-11-12: Added an SNES 3D Cartridge Set, and an NES 2D Cartridge Set. Also added links to preview all of the files on Photobucket.

Update 03-07-12: Updated snes9xgx sets (Added some Covers). The 2D set was mostly replaced by a more vibrant set and looks a little more alive. See spoiler for example.

"SNES 2D Old vs New"

Update 03-05-12: Updated all fceugx cover sets.

Update 03-03-12: Soo.... I've been updating my VbaGX Coversets. Have not only added to them, but have fixed the perspective on the 3D covers to display the proper aspect ration instead of bieng stretched. From here on out, everything will be of the proper aspect ratio. See the spoiler below to see what I'm talking about. I also adjusted and updated the Snes9xGx Cart Covers. Although they weren't off much being stretched, the corrected aspect ration definately makes a difference.

"3D Perspective: Proper Ratio vs Stretched"

Also, I've added GBC and GBA cartridge sets! GB set will be coming in the next few weeks.

And FYI, the newer sets are named to my roms, sorry.. but not really, because the majority of the covers (especially GBA) needed to be renamed to not exceed the character limit anyways, so if you name your roms to match these covers, you'll be all good and everything will display correctly.

Preview the updated files on Photobucket here:

I have updated every set now (fceugx and snes9xgx since the previous post), have yet still to add a Gameboy Classic Cart set, but I think everything else will stay as is at this point. My collection is finally matched at 100% on these so I'm satisfied... so I guess my finalized versions are up! (If anyone wants to add any Jap/Alts to these sets, feel free!) Look back 3 posts for the links, I didn't want to spam this thread with links.

So I'm using the latest fceu covermod, 3.2.9 r1. I just wanted to know what d.a.u.b.e is... ? I noticed it at the top corner of the screen when trying it out. Also, I'm having a problem with the lastest snes cover mod(Snes9xGX 4.2.9 Cover v2). like it keeps coming up saying USB DEVICE NOT FOUND. it does this more often than not. im 100% positive its the emulator. anyone else having this issue?

The name of the revision is just a bad private joke. Daube is a french dish (one of my favorite). It looks like that:

Warning! Spoiler inside.

Generally it's beef and carrottes cooked for hours in red wine.

A second meaning would be crap or shit in english.
I read discussions about the version should be called this or that... Personnally, I don't give a fuck as long as you know it's the latest one.

For the usb not found, no idea. It happens with ios58 and 202?

haha, thanks for the explanation, i was just curious. and yea, about the usb drive not found. it happens in the latest Snes9xGX 4.2.9 Cover v2, and im using the 202 version. it doesn't happen every time, but its happening pretty frequently. Im going to try the ios58 version in a bit to see if it does the same thing. Im not having any usb issues of any kind with anything else. Oh, and I JUST started using this latest snes9x cover mod yesterday btw. Its not like ive been using it for a month and then all of a sudden it started giving me problems or something... (was using 4.2.8 Cover v5 cios202 before this) In the meantime ill be testing out the 58 version. One other question I had was about the info.xml file. I have it on the SD/snes9xgx/info.xml and usb/snes9xgx/info.xml JUST to be sure, and whenever i try to check a games info it just says "info.xml not found" I edited the first few game names in the xml to match the names of my roms(2020 baseball (U) etc) but i still cant get it to work... not sure what im doing wrong... o_O

edit: well i got it working. i think it was because i still had the last version of snes9xgx covermod i was using on my sd, and it was conflicting with the config files or something... o_O but i deleted them both then then extracted JUST Snes9xGX 4.2.9 Cover v2-ios202 and now it works fine... also with the info.xml file, a friend on here told me it needed to be placed in apps/snes9xgx... NOT sd:/snes9xgx. so that got it working. :)
