Am I the only one who has issues with the setting of the covers folder?

I'd like to change this from the default 'snes9xgx\covers' to 'emulator\snes\covers', and this works quite well...until I quit the emulator. If I start it the next time, it went back to the default value (other settings remain changed correctly).

I'm using uneek+DI if that makes any difference. The VBAgx cover mod has the same issue (but with vbagx\covers as folder, obviously). The NES one doesn't.

Does this support viewing covers aligned both horizontally and vertically? Cause Japanese Super Famicom games were often vertical rather than the horizontal black framed ones we got in the west.

Same for the the NES, just in reverse, many Japanese covers were horizontal there.

No this is adapted to euro, us covers only just like the original version by giantpune, I didn't touch that part and that would be a little hard to make something homogeneous.

Well what I mean is, can it display covers that are both 160x224 and 316x224? So that Japanese covers don't have to be turned sideways and having to tilt our heads to see them.

I already gave you the answer. If you have only japanese games in one folder, it could be doable to toggle between horizontal and vertical mode, or else display both sizes at the same time in rows and it won't be that easy !
I don't think I will do that, sorry.

You can find the games on eBay or at a flea market. You can also look for GX emulator mod topic, it's not very far ...

Oh you're right, I forgot to add the ability to load and save values for Cover folder location. I'll post a fix for that later.

Snes9xGX 4.2.8 Cover v4

VBA-GX 2.2.2 Cover v2

- Fixed covers directory no being saved in both emulators.

Unless there are huge bugs, these are the last versions that I'll release. I don't think it's worth adding game info feature in the other two emu.
Maybe someone could implement and improve this, it's not very long (well it's subjective) , the most boring part is finding games database and create one with scripts or manually(?!).

oh lala, ay mama, Im totally excited. I had to edit a bit the info.xml to match the names of my roms, I also tweaked some years, and deleted the rest so loading doesn't take so much time.
About VBA-GX cover mod any reason you didn't use the latest version? Also, I have the roms divided in 3 folders (GB,GBC,GBA), maybe you could add folders icons, and "go up", so is easy to navigate? and what resolution do we use for covers?

You rock, thanks!

That's cool amigo ! Yes, that's faster if you remove the entries for games you don't actually have. I provided the most exhaustive xml files in order to easily edit them, the drawback is the slower display in emulator.

And shit ! There may be a curse around VBA-GX, I've done the fix too quickly and I realize now that my last source code is lost. So it's based upon 2.2.2 cover, the first test because of problem compiling with latest DevkitPPC (changes in file operations) and my old linux. The previous version was 2.2.5 (without stantard files operation, but who cares?).
Fortunately, there aren't a lot of important improvements in emulation between the two revisions.
End of story. I'll try to repair my stupidi... absent-mindedness and release my last (at last) version.

I missed reading the file: "Covers must be 224*224 png images". NICE.

Since VBA gx plays 3 types of hardware, I put my roms in 3 different folders, that is nice when vba loads, it can go directly to the GBA folder. But now for example, I want to go to the GBC folder, It becomes a real pain, I should change to text mode and navigate, or probably change the auto loading folder and reinitiliaze. My suggestion is obvious, to show also folder icons, I just hope implementation is not hard:

I can't get the covers to display in the snes version. I named them the same as the rom file and saved them as png format in the covers folder. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah... that's a problem. I have my nes and famicom disk system roms in separate folders, also my snes roms and satellaview. I recomend doing something simple like genplusgx.
