Hope someone can help, I have an R4i Gold Upgrade card which has Http://WWW.R4I-GOLD.HK on it.

All worked fine on 3DS until the 3DS was updated to V3.0.0-7 and now I can't get it to work. Is there a fix for this or do I need a new card?

Thanks for any help!

your card needed the update before the 3ds was updated , you will now need another system to update your card a DS lite preferably , non updated 3ds . run the upgrade on your card with the latest firmware on the sd card on the ds lite and then it should be good to go.

Thanks for your quick reply, is it the kernel I need to download? Any instructions for what I need to do exactly?

I am relatively new to the DS scene. I ordered a card recently, unfortunately BEFORE I found thread. Can anyone tell me if this card is a "good" card for a DSLite? I found the site I ordered from through the store here. I will be purchasing more cards for a 3DS in the future, but wanted to see how everything worked on the DS Lite first. I'm not too concerned about the money, but if I should go ahead and order another card because this one is going to cause me problems I'd prefer to know as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Sup, guys. Just wanted to share a bit of info. Hope it will help someone.

Despite being absolutely identical in terms of box-cover, flash card appearance and web-site design, R4 3DS Gold from http://r4-gold.net and http://www.r4i-gold.eu/ are different and card from *.net website doesn't work with firmware and kernel from *.eu website. It's kinda sad, because its developers didn't upgrade it for a bunch of time and R4 3DS Gold from *.eu zone has firmware which works with current 3DS OS version.

PS Learned it on my personal experience, "net" r4 just shows a "menu?" error with kernel from "eu" website.

Some things I've noticed about R4 Clones:

R4iSDHC.com's white dualcore flash card with "New" printed on it, and r4i-gold.com's "Pro" card are identical. Their kernels are interchangeable.

R4i3d.com card labeled "New" has an identical kernel with the r4isdhc.com white dualcore without "New" printed on it. The kernels are interchangeable.

R4i-gold.cc, Ace3ds, r4i-sdhc.com.tw, r4-v.com, r4i-sdhc.hk and r4i-gold.hk have identical kernels. The only difference among them is a name change, of a root file present on all of the kernels, its size is 253kb. The r4i-gold.cc has that file named twice, once as "config" and once as "r4i.3ds" The Ace3ds has it named: "config" and "3DSCARD.DAT", r4i-sdhc.com.tw has it named only once as "TTMenu.dat", r4i-gold.hk and r4i-sdhc.hk have it named six times (3dscard.dat, config, iLL.iL, R4i.3DS, R4i.TP, and ttmenu.dat)

ndsill.net is the same exact card as r4igold.cn The kernels are interchangeable.

r4i-gold.com (3ds version, not Pro) and r4i-gold.eu (3ds version) are the same exact card and the kernels are interchangeable.

r4i-blue.com is the exact same kernel as r4ill-net.com. Only difference is the 835kb file is named "ttmenu.dat" on the r4ill-net.com and its named "R4I.HK" on the r4i-blue.com

r4i-yes.com is the same card as r4i-advance.com The kernels are interchangeable.

I'm hoping this info comes in handy in case a website goes down or you want to use a kernel that is more updated than the one you have. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe the update file from one card might work directly on your card, increasing the compatibility with higher Nintendo firmwares.

Also:

R4iSDHC.com's white dualcore flash card, and r4i-gold.com's new "Pro" card are identical. Their firmware's are interchangeable. r4i3D almost has the same kernel, only difference being the savlib.dat and infolib.dat file sizes....leading me to believe it is the same card.

Do you mean interchangeable only with white Dual Core cards marked "new"? Is there a cart identical to the white Dual Core cart (without "new")?

Yes, the r4i-gold.com new "Pro" card has an identical kernel as the white dual core marked "New" from r4isdhc.com

An identical kernel for your card is from r4i3d.com and here is the link

Thank you. What's the difference between the new dual cores and the old ones?

The main difference, which I'm sure you are very aware of, is the ability of the cart labeled "New" to be compatible with Nintendo's 2.2.0-4+ firmware. I'm not sure if the hardware changed on the card but I would bet it did. :D

just a heads-up, i guess.

••R4i 3D
www.ndsill.net
Description: Green plastic, green sticker, red "3D" and wifi icon, blue PCB with white "3DS" printed on it. Works on current firmware (3.0.0.6U), and shows Prince Caspian. I can't find the *REAL* firmware update anywhere, as the website is horribly outdated (and might even brick the card), and i ordered mine pre-flashed.

No, because it doesn't exist. The real R4 does not support the 3DS. Or the DSi. Or SDHC.

That update stops at 19% progress on the r4i 3d with "2012" printed on the sticker. You must be speaking about the "new" printed on the sticker version, correct?
