i hope that user comments in this thread add info like firmware updates, kernel updates, review links, problems, etc.

^That^

its ridiculous to say that a clone should only be judged based on its firmware/loader support. some clones are so poorly made that the problems are not with the software or compatibility. you would be wise to remember that.

r4ids.cn new flashcard sold are 3ds compatible, but older sold in past no because they didn't release a 3ds firmware update until now 18 april . maybe in future they will release one.
r4i-sdhc.com never released any firmware update so is a bad example of firmware support

That's a good idea, I'll add that.

Not that the list is going to be very long anyway.

this is a nice project and a useful topic. i've pinned it for now. please keep it updated. i hope that user comments in this thread add info like firmware updates, kernel updates, review links, problems, etc.

the r4idsn and r4i gold (.cn team) are not 3ds compatible. the r4idsn 3ds and r4i gold 3ds have new controller chip code which allows them to be updated for the 3ds. the previous cards can only be updated for the dsi. they should be moved into that section and the 3ds version added to the 3ds section.

i can quote an on-going e-mail conversation with the team if you need proof =)

you can see images here of the different chips: http://www.r4idsn.com/about.asp
