Hi, everybody! I am the 'someone' who updates the nesDS(EX). I come here and want to know if you guys have any idea upon nesDS...
The reason I do this work is that some NES games I want to play do NOT work well on nesDS, so I just tried to fix it..
I come from China. In the recent weeks, I spent my days working on the Chinese NES games or the ones translated into Chinese. Now that the games I love work fine on nesDS.
I have spent half a year on this. If anyone want some games to work on nesDS, just tell me yaynds.gif ...

I have a few games for request:
1. Punch-Out. The graphics are jumbled, which is kinda distracting.
2. Action 52. It's a really bad game, but I want to have it on my DS for novelty reasons.
3. Games with PCM sound. They work, but the PCM sound (like the drums in Mario 3) is missing. It would be great if you could get the audio to play properly in these games.

Also, can you bring back the flicker setting from 0.31? The video filters in 0.40b aren't very good.

Punch out is really the only game that i think should be fixed and mario 3, most of the games that I play work fine.

After Burner is my ultimate favorite NES game, but most of the sprites (mostly the background ones and most of them on the title screen) are totally missing when playing the game, making it unplayable.

Thank you SO much for joining the forum huminghao! We all have many ideas!

Okay, first thing, FIX THE TOUCH SCREEN MENU if possible. The touchscreen menu has been troublesome in practically every version of NESDS so far, so it would REALLY be appreciated if we could bring up the menu with a button, and during using the menu, you can USE THE BUTTONS to select what you want to and pause the game in the meantime.

as for games, I'd like to see punch-out working without glitches.

Also, can you fix the glitchy HUD in akamajou dracula boku dracula-kun (kid dracula)?

Can you fix Armadillo (J)? It's glitchy as crap, and hal of the backgrounds dissapear when you jump.

Cheetahmen II resets itself if you press start at the title screen, making it unplayable. can this be fixed?

Qix has a very glitchy playing field, can this be fixed?

Thank you for all the work you've done and any that you might do in the future biggrin.gif

I can't think of any others to add to the list at the moment, but fixing the audio issue and garbled graphics that Yaymii mentioned are things I'd like to see too. I had always thought the mixed up graphics were some sort of ROM dumping error but I've seen it on any version I've ever tried, and on both the regular Punch Out and Mike Tyson's Punch Out versions.

Yes, thank you very much for your work updating nesDS.
As far as compatibility, of the games I play only 2 still have severe issues:

Wizards and Warriors (HUD disappears after the 1st level)
Startropics (garbage graphics in HUD during conversations and other instances)

On the features side, a few that would be nice are

PCM sound emulation (this would pretty much be the main feature, that would really complete this emulator)
arg support
Support for loading in DSi mode through sudokuhax.

Oh, and I almost forgot:
It'd be cool if you could implement some form of light-gun support. But you'll need to make it more difficult than just touching where you want to shoot, because that would ruin the experience.
Because I'm dying for Duck Hunt on the go.

I am sorry that I just know little about the NES SOUND. I find that the sound does NOT work perfectly in some games. I have no plan to update the sound now, maybe later I will...

Some guys else also told me that the TOUCH SCREEN MENU does work very well, because it may be hard for their DS to touch the right 'STRING'. Ok, I will try to rewrite the whole MENU thing. Also I will try to fix the games you mentioned above one by one...

That's a problem that happens with the earlier DS models, if I'm not mistaken.
When playing nesDS on my very first black DS Lite, the touch screen was extremely buggy.
But now, when playing on a silver DS Lite, it works like a charm.
It works perfectly on a metallic pink Lite and on the Red/Black one, too.

For Action 52, you just need to put in working mapper 228 support.

I get bugginess on my DS Phat Grey. Many others do too. I can't even count how many times I've saved a state when I wanted to load a different ROM and vice versa, So, for me and many others, I see no problem with having the menu controllable by button.

Major thanks to you huminghao for trying to fix the menu and those games. Not many coders are this open and willing to commit, let alone coders for the DS. You have my respect and thanks. smile.gif

That is why I add the modifications to each update? It does the same for me, but my brother's DS is just fine with it.
